A person wakes up as 12:52 am. An alarm by the computer was what woke him up. Since he didn't remember why he turned on the alarm he decided to go to the kitchen make himself a sandwich and go back to sleep. When he goes to the kitchen he turns on the light and dies. Why?

The alarm was because of a gas leak, not because of time?

The alarm was to remind him to get out and stop that big yellow bulldozer.

Well the alarm was intended for his wife, and the light switch triggered a rabid pitbull to attack. She was cheating on him, you see, and we don't accept that behavior around here.

The wife opened the gas tap in the kitchen, set the alarm, and left the house.

The alarm was an automatic storm warning. He went to the kitchen and when he turned on the light it flickered because of the storm. He was an epileptic. It doesn't fit with some of the clues, but I thought it was a good idea :p

So the switch triggered something.. It was connected to a nuclear projectile on the kitchen table, smuggled from Russia? Or maybe eye surgery killed him?

Does the time have to do with anything at all other then the darkness that made him turn on the light?

Oh duh, he didn't set the alarm. Which is why he didn't know why he set it. So someone was waiting to kill him.
