Train Suicide

This is the first time I post here... so sorry if you've heard this riddle befor. Anyway here goes.
This guy enters a hospital. Inside he has surgery, and right after that he goes to a train station and takes a train. Inside that train he suicides.
Why did he killed himself?
PS. The way he kills himself is irrelevant.

It was going to a concentration camp or something. I know I guessed that answer before, and it was wrong, but I can't remember the right answer.

All these riddles have someone dying. How morbid.
His surgery failed and he is going to die soon anyway. He wants to rid himself of the suffering and agonizing pain he's going through.

How is he then taking the train right after?
So, he is a surgeon. When he got on the train, he realized he made a serious mistake... left a sponge inside the patient. When the mistake comes out, his life is over anyway so he kills himself.
Yeah, it's morbid.

hint: the train went through a tunnel
hint2: for some obscure reason there were no lights in the tunnel
hint3: The man just had eye surgery
hint4: Actually, the surgery ought to have been done weeks earlier; but the bandages were removed today, and finally he could see again.
hint5: This riddle has been posted several times before. It's so far fetched I'd never be able to guess
answer: The man thought he went blind again, and rather than give it a few minutes, he killed himself. Nevermind how he didn't notice they went into a tunnel. Or why there were no light in the tunnel. Or in the train. Or why nobody stopped him. Or a thousand other things that just don't add up.
