They forgot to make a hole to get into the igloo, froze from exposure, and died.

I think that most people who are found dead are outside of an igloo...

A clue to some, it's not the igloo that first springs to mind.

The Artic has only 3 seasons, Spring, Winter, and Break-up.

Alright, I'll abandon my habit of hinting and spell it out: Break-up is the season between Winter and Spring when the ice breaks. I.e., my answer is that they drowned when the ice gave way beneath them.

Good point, BNC! The igloo might be made of some of the poisoned ice from the Poison Drinks riddle. Or a polar bear killed them.

No, they didn't drown, get killed by a polar bear, or poisoned but it did have something to do with ice. Sublimation(clue)

So "outside of the igloo" is actually in the water below the igloo?

The igloo is not a shelter built from ice blocks, but is an Igloo Brand ice chest. The two dead bodies are organ donors in an operating room awaiting a surgeon who will remove transplantable organs, put them in the Igloo, and send them off for transplant. Or if it was a ice shelter, the men were putting a TV antenna up on the roof of their home, slipped off, and fell to their deaths.

They are basketball players so they could not get inside of the igloo since they are over two meters high. Or they are from a broken home and had a sad childhood, so they do not want to enter another cold home. Or the igloo had an inscription saying, 'Oprah is inside.' But there is no need to be so pessimistic, as perhaps just a polar bear was sleeping inside instead. Or an Eskimo family occupied the igloo, and there was no more space in the igloo for more people, and certainly not for white people who cough and spread disease.

SWF got pretty close; it was an igloo brand ice chest, combine that with sublimation, and i'll pretty much give it away now, add spelunking into the fray.

Using those clues, I guess they put dry ice in their ice chest and suffocated while exploring a cave. Or perhaps the built an igloo out of dry ice, suffocated in their sleep, and later there was no sign remaining of the igloo. The igloo they were outside of belonged to their neighbors who used regular ice.

Yes, while the men were spelunking, they had a small picnic in a cave, brought their igloo brand ice chest and cleverly put dry ice in it too keep their beer cold, not realising that as the dry ice sublimed, it would push the lighter air out of the cave and they suffocated
