Mark's father was on his deathbed. He calls his sons to him and says: "Put at least 100$ in my coffin, each of you." He dies. Mark's two brothers put in 100$ each. Mark, being stingy, takes out 200$ from the coffin, but he didn't dishonored his father's last whish. Explain. This is not my riddle.

he puts a check in for $100. knowing that it will never be cashed, he's not out any money. alternatively, he could have put a check for $300 in, so that his brothers would still technically be covered, even though he gets their money. am i right??

I knew it like this: The 1st son puts a $100 note in the coffin. The 2nd son, a little smarter, writes a cheque for $100 and puts it in the coffin. The 3rd son, the smartest, writes a cheque for $300, puts it in the coffin and takes back the $100 note and the $100 cheque.
