Hmmm.. Could it be that the man went skydiving, and his parachute fail to open, and he went splat into the ocean, dying upon impact. Anyway, how long has the body been under the sea ?

Ok, he might have been in a sub-marine or a ship-wreck where he died from different kinds of reasons, or he died during a period of time when the sea level was at least 20 meters lower (ice age)

It could be it was the skeleton of a pirate captain that went down with his ship after a cannonball battle or something along the lines of that. The corpse might be 1000s of years old. Wait, to be a corpse, It needs flesh, doesnt it?

you see, the guy is a diver, and his gas tank is running low. He swims up to the surface too fast, and the fast depressurization kills him

i think th guy was a navy seal and died because some of the gaurds of the installation were throwing heavy rocks in the water to kill time, and one of the rocks hit the navy seal and he got knocked out, ran out of air and suffocated
