Abbatoir deaths
« on: May 30th, 2005, 3:49am »
Quote Quote Modify Modify

A man went for a job interview at an abbatoir. As he sat on a chair outside the killing rooms, he could hear 2 workers telling eachother jokes in hysterics, hardly able to speak, slapping their thighs in glee. Then suddenly a third man, obviously a co-worker, walked past the interviewee, carrying a snake in his hands, and entered the room where the commotion was coming from.
Immediately there was silence. Unable to contain his curiosity, the interviewee got up and opened the door.
He fell back in horror, for before him were the three men, all lying in pools of their own blood, their wounds gushing and fatal. The snake was in the arms of the third man, and hadn't been touched.

What happened in the abbatoir?

The snake is not alive...

The riddle is "What is going on in the abbatoir?" or "Why did the men all die suddenly?"

Sorry, I should have made it clearer...  Smiley

Did they kill each other?
Did the third worker get inside to take revenge on the death of his snake?

A place where they work with knives might be a dangerous place for practical jokes..

Several questions :

1. The wounds, are they the cause of their deaths ?
2. Are the wounds from sharp objects ( such as knives ), or blunt ones ( such as a baseball bat ) ?
3. Is the snake significant ?

Just those for now.

a prank Grin

a low down dirty prank

the first two were laughing at how well the prank had gone down the last time they tried it
the third guy used the snake to catch the interviewers attention, now all they had to do was play dead and wait for their prank to be discovered.

now is a abbatoir any place for a snake?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
thats a real question i never heard of an abbatoir

Something I've overlooked to ask;

The door which the interviewer opens to look inside, is it the only entrance/exit to the room ? Are there windows, vents , other exit points within the room ?

Is the snake a whole snake or are you talking about a thing made out of snake, like purse?
Did they turn on by accident any device, let's say by turning the wrong switch?

Yes, the door that the interviewee opens is the only way in or out of the place...

And no, no switches were turned on or off...

The man is a werewolf.  Seeing the snake (added to the dim moon shine from the window) made him become his animal self and he went for a killing spree.  Then he came back to his senses and discovered the corpses, not remembering anything.

Ok, a silly question: were these men human or are we talking about male pigs or bulls?
And you've already said that it's a real dead snake, not something that looks like one?

Okay, let's see where we stand.

1. The interviewee heard 2 men in the room, laughing. Since this implies that these men are alive, my question is, is the laughter he heard actually came from the two victims, who, at that time still alive ? Or are they already dead, and the interviewee only heard voices which resembles the dead people ?

2. The 'snake' is something that resembles a snake, which is not alive. Possibilities that came to mind are a whip, a toy snake, a belt. Hmm..still no ideas there.

3. Would this scenario be possible in any other settings, aside from in an abattoir ?

Were the wounds caused by the "snake"?
Was it used by them or not?
