Three sailors

Was the bar one where people come in and have a few beers, or one of the type that is used to keep structures etc together. A metalic bar for instance.

Buying a round, in a girls-only-bar? Not that bad an idea, except when you get kicked out. Besides... what's a barman doing in a girls-only bar?

The bar isn't a real bar. It's a set up by the navy. Young men come in there, adn the staff get them drunk on cheap ale.
Hey Presto!! The next thing the guys know is that they wake up on board a naval ship as part of the crew.
In England in 18th and early 19th Cenruries, this wouldn't be as far-fetched as it sounds.
