Gladys lives on the 15th floor of the skyscraper. She threw a porcelain vase at her husband. He ducked and the vase flew through the open window, but it didn't break when it fell on the concrete ground. Why?

Ambiguous. Probably the simplest is that she wasn't at home when she threw the vase at him.

Or it could have hit something soft, such as a mattress, bounce on the mattress until it almost stops, at which point it falls off the side, hitting the ground 10 cm below.

Or as it flew through the open window it hit the window sill (or somthing else hard), smashing the vase into many pieces. Hence "it didn't break when it fell on the concrete ground".

Two friends are on a glacier. One falls in a crevice. The other calls down: - Can you hear me? A voice comes back: - Yes, I hear you. - Is it deep? - Yes, very deep. - Are you hurt? - No, not at all. - Not hurt? How is it possible? - I'm still falling...
