Damn! I am reading the forum on an iPad but I cannot view the hidden text. When I select the text, it just covers it with a bluish rectangle. Any help for us poooor iPad users?

Don't you have the "unhide" bookmarklet? Or doesn't that work either? And I'm very sorry for you that buying an iPad has left you poor. But those things are expensive.

Yes, it works! It was a pain to bookmark a javascript link in Apple's little fenced garden. You can only bookmark the current page. When you enter some javascript in the address bar you cannot bookmark it. When you execute it it reverts to the page's URL. When you bookmark a page, you can modify the title but not the URL. You cannot create a bookmark from scratch. You have to add a dummy bookmark and edit it to change the URL to the javascript. And there is no favorite links bar, so you have to get the bookmark from the menu every time you want to unhide. But it works. Anyway, it is not my iPad. I am just testing a friend's one.

It is nice to browse the internet, as an interactive news reader or to carry PDF's with you for reference. It is also large enough to be used as an eBook. But typing is uncomfortable. I am used to touch-type, watching what I type. But with the iPad I have to look at the keyboard. Doing so I oversee all the "corrections" of the spellchecker, therefore I need to re-read everything I type. As I read somewhere, it is perfect for consuming content sitting in a sofa, but not good for producing content. It doesn't feel much different from a oversize iPod. And there are much less free apps. Applications that used to be free for the iPod are now paying.

I have an iPad too, I find it very useful for reading ebooks and internet news. I also use it as agenda and notepad.

I prefer the laptop still, over the iPad.
