Getting Logged Out Too Soon

Every couple of days, I am having to log in again. On each occasion, I set "stay logged in for" to 9999, and I always select the "stay logged in" option. Is there anything I can do to stay logged in for a week or more, please?

| Yes - I believe it is assigned dynamically by my ISP. This is inconvenient. The normal method of staying logged in is to use a cookie. I would have thought that in the case of a puzzle forum, this security level would be sufficient.

| It does use a cookie, but it seems to use the IP in computing the hash it puts into that cookie. But I agree it's inconvenient, I have the same problem at university, because unless I get the same computer I need to log in again. | I don't know if it's an installation/configuration option or a fixed 'feature' of the forum software. There might not have been a choice.
