Go with the flow

Once I got lost in a forest. I was going to make a fire and spend the night, but fortunately I found a water pipe. Obviously I should go along the pipe, but in what direction? In the direction of the water flow, since the water goes to people. But how could I determine in which direction the water was flowing?

Make a fire to heat the pipe, then feel which way the warm water flows..

1.- Make a little perpendicular hole in the top of the pipe and see the direction it tends to. 2.- Break the pipe and wait for the repair team to come, then ask them for a free ride 3.- Look for the road they use to access the pipe and maintain it
