At first sight promising looks 1. f6 Bxh3 2). Rh1 Rc8 3). Rxh3 Kg8 with mating threats, but I don't see any good continuation.

I didn't analyze the position, but it looks like zugzwang and I would start analysis with Bg4.

| 1. Rd7 Re3 2. f6 Bxd7 3. Bxd7 looks good as well 1. Rd7 Re3 2. f6 Rxh3 3. Rd8 mate ... nice solution ThudanBlunder But what about: 1. Rd7 Kg7 2. c7 Bxd7 3. f6+ Kxf6 4. Bxd7 1. Rd7 Kg7 2. c7 Kf6 3. Rd8 Ke7 4. f6+ Kf8 5. Rxe8 Kxe8 6. Bxc8 1. Rd7 Kg8 2. f6 Kh7 3. c7 1. Rd7 Kg8 2. f6 not Kh7 (nor check) 3. Bf5

I am not sure ... there is "stalemate" at c column, black should activate it's king through h7 ... But 1. Rd7 Re3 2. f6 Ke8 3. Re7+ Rxe7 4. Bxc8 Ra7 and black approaches with his king

Hippo and Johan, I have been informed by the person who sent this to ChessBase that the key move is 1. f6!! and if 1...Bxh3 then 2. c7! followed by 3. Rd8 But I still can't find a win! Ah, I think I have it. Black is reduced to moving his bishop along the b7-c8-h3 diagonal and/or pushing pawns. In the meantime, White activates his king and eats the pawns before queening his own. Sound plausible?

| Yes, interesting , black must move such that the bishop either occupies or protects c8. White has a2 pawn while black a6 so white wins zugzwang fight for c4 pawn (he must hurry while there is a3/a4 choice). The black can be "stalemated" with rook king touching each other either on e8,f8 or f8,g8.

Instead of Rd8 try rh1. Black removes Bishop or loses it any case rh8 or pc8 will ensure win

| No, this was covered in my first post. 2. Rh1 only draws. Anyway, had you read my last post properly you would know that the answer to this puzzle has been found.
