ROFL, Our teacher gave us this equation, when he incorrectly stated that 2=5 on the whiteboard (obviously he made a mistake, the guy is a mathematical genious). Anywho, i was able to figure out this instantly. It is not possible, because you cannot divide by zero; (a-b)(a+b) = b(a-b). Anywho, we were given the same equation just slightly modified, a2 - b2 = ab-b2 was a2-1=b2-1 and then factorised. I must ask him to prove that 2=5. Oh by the way for anyone that didn't know, as long as your original equation=0, you can make any number = any number.

Hmm... Are you able to solve every riddle you find in this section? I would suggest you try several Sengupta's riddles.

No, not every puzzle I am able to solve, due to the facts that I have not been taught all the mathematics to apply some of the questions (which is why the hard is too hard). No I just find that the questions I skimmmed over at the top, then read all the way down, most of them I was able to find a/the correct solution, using one of my riddle/problem solving books as an answer, as it had the question, or similar one, in there. I have looked through my books many times, so i am familiar with the strategies required to solve many of the medium puzzles, but the hard I am not. That is why I am saying that they are too easy for me, obviously some I am not able to solve, but the rest I am with no difficulties and in a very small time. Also the hard provide a nice challenge for me. Wink
