Duck In Pond

A duck is in a circular pond with a menacing cat outside. The cat runs four times as fast as the duck can swim, but cannot enter the water. Can the duck get to the perimeter of the pond without the cat being on top of him? Does anyone have any conclusive solutions for this? Sorry edited.

You can only believe i what you can prove, and since you have nothing proven to cmpare to, you can believe in nothing.
I have ~50 posts to hack a "R" into a "D". Which one?

| True. But unlike in the riddle the ducks are 3D animals (moving 3D, i.e. can fly), so they are still safe and cats still must catch mice if they want to eat.
