Norwegian Riddle

Translating a riddle isnt allways the best way to go but I`l give it a try. Every christmas since 2002 there is a riddle going around the nation, and every year this stays unsolved, as far as I know at least. In norwegian it is: Det er tyngst om vinteren, trives ikke i lys, veier 20kg, kan prate men lever ikke, burde vært lovlig men er farlig parvis.. Translated: What is at it`s heaviest in the winter, does`nt like light, weighs 20kg, can talk but is not alive, should be legal but is dangerous in pairs. Here you go. Hope there is an answer to this.

hmmmn- we've come up against this before. Furbies were mentioned. IT strikes me as a words puzzle- and may lose something in the translation... for example Doesn't like light- means it likes dark OR likes heavy Dangerous in pairs- could be unsafe together, unsafe in shoes/socks, or unsafe in fruit.

Ikke sant, hvordan skal vi vite om det er om vinteren eller sommeren. Gramatikk og ordbruk levner stor tvil om disse sakene. Yes, it realy loses a lot in the translation, and as for the "should be legal" sentence, it is maybe legal in the states og U.K. but not here. Tricky business this. But to clear upp those two at least: He likes the dark. Could be unsafe together.

It seems like the phrase "heaviest in winter" would mean that it's weight fluctuates, yet it specifically says that it weighs 20kg. I wonder why...
