I'm going to complete the sequence in the following way: :: 1, 2, 3, 6...:: That works because :: it has 1, 2, 3, followed by a number growing by 2 every time (2, 4, 6, etc.):: the problem with a sequence like this is there are many, many answers which COULD fit, but only one which the author is seeking.

This is true - but let me throw a spanner in the works and give you more elements. 1, 2, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, ... Now find the next two.

"1, 2, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, ... Now find the next two." Next two are 2,3. Is this an old Roman puzzle?
