This is a standard chess puzzle.

Okay...I've been working on this around the clock.  I actually stared at this for so long that my mind started to hallucinate a white bishop in there to make it work.

So, I need a hint.  Are any pieces captured by the end of the solution?

Hint:Yes and no. (Hehe) In one variation yes; in another, no.

I read the hint.
I slept on it.
Then I woke up thinking...OF COURSE! "yes" AND "no".
Now I know the answer!  Actually... no.
As much as I would have liked an actual hint, I decided to work the problem out with my cousin.  The funny thing is that he thinks of moves I would logically dismiss and I think of moves that are perfectly logically accepted.  Together, we can solve any chess puzzle.  We solved two actually in less than 20 minutes.
::1.Kc8
Then threaten the bishop AND the pawn at the same time (with the king of course) and end up killing the pawn first.  blah blah blah.
The logic ends up being that, the black pawn must move up in order to seperate the pawn from protection from the bishop.  And needing to "catch" up with the pawn can be done by forcing the bishop to take f5 to keep the queen from appearing, and threatening the bishop, itself.

Maybe I need to sleep on your answer because I'm trying to work out why this doesn't happen:
1. Kc8, b5

Now you're two moves behind the pawn and the black bishop can still play Bf5 to block white queening on c8.
?

Indeed? White to Play and Win (II) awaits your divided attention.  Tongue

unkwoop, that's exactly what happens!

That's why white wins draws...read everything I put in my "answer" very carefully.  There is a sentence in there that will FORCE anyone to realize white's second move, and third move.  I also mentioned black's first and second move.

LOL, yeah, I know, I was working on it today, but I think I need my cousin to help me with it.  It's SO much faster.
