So what choices does she make? Is there a fixed set of numbers she can choose for her three positions?

Also, as an aside, most of us forumers only have a very tentative grasp of the existence of the "main" site anymore (which hasn't been updated in three years). So it would really help if you also post the actual question you're referring to (that way we don't all have to go searching for it).

So for reference:
Quote:
Alice and Bob play a game. Starting with Alice, they alternate in selecting digits for a 6-digit decimal number UVWXYZ that they construct from left to right. Alice chooses U, then Bob chooses V, then Alice chooses W, and so on. No digit can be repeated. Alice wins if UVWXYZ is not a prime. Can Alice always win?

I finally found the old thread http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~wwu/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=riddles_har d;action=display;num=1034091982

I hadn't notice the "No digit can be repeated." in the puzzle until it was mentioned there. Although the variation without that limitation seems more interesting; I haven't found a simple strategy for it when the first digit can't be 0 (with 0 at the start is considered in the old thread).
