What Movie Is This?

Note: The link below has gotten too popular and now you can't view it without registering. You can check out http://www.filmwise.com/invisibles/index.shtml instead for similar problems; thanks to Icarus for mentioning this. Guess the movies: http://patangay.com/moviegame/ The movies span a pretty wide range -- there's some really old ones there. Type a guess and press enter to see if it's correct. Note: I found a flaw in the way the movie checks for correctness. If a movie has n words in its name, then you can type any n words as a guess and it will be considered correct, as long as the first word is correctly spelled. So for instance, Saturday Lunch Break will be considered a valid submission for Saturday Night Fever.

So far I've gotten: 11. Lawrence of Arabia 15. Saturday Night Fever - only due to William's comments. I don't care for John Travolta, and have never seen the movie. 16. Field of Dreams - another movie I've never seen. 31. A Christmas Story - one of my favorite scenes. 32. Good Will Hunting - the equations on the blackboard behind the ivy league jacket left only a couple possibilities for this one. 33. Forrest Gump 46. Trading Places 47. The Matrix - how could you miss with the black outfits and the tiny oval sunglasses? 61. Schindler's List - Concentration camp movie at least partly in black & white: only one recent candidate I could think of. 67. The full Monty - another movie I've never seen, but hey - these guys look like their dancing.

Here are ones I know that haven't been mentioned above: 2. Unforgiven 9. full metal jacket - after being ridiculed throughout boot camp, private pyle does something crazy 14. do the right thing - fantastic spike lee movie, go see it 18. pulp fiction - bruce willis takes off with his girl 21. ransom 28. blair witch project - flashlights in the face 30. hellraiser 38. shrek 45. reservoir dogs - the boss is outlining the heist and assigning colorful names to the professionals 51. grease - travolta and his hip leather jacketed crew 55. butch cassidy and the sundance kid - yeah i've watched quite a few old films 59. fast and the furious 66. waterboy - adam sandler holds the prestigious position of "water distribution engineer" 70. white men can't jump - with woody harrelson as the white guy Still lots of blanks left.

Got one third of them now, anyway. I feel kind of foolish about shrek - never noticed it was animated. As for the rest, Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid is the only one I've seen all of (I first saw this "old film" when it came out, by the way ). So its no shame in missing them (how you recognized that one out of all the westerns with scenes by trains... ).

I did a little exploring and found the site they originally came from. Where there are quite a few more. For example, this image submitted by a user: (What could it be? )

What site is that? (your link is malformed I'm afraid). Hehe, I guess Cassidy is not that old a film, but most people in my generation have never heard of it. I really enjoyed that movie, so I guess I remembered its details well enough to be triggered by that train scene.

Unformed is more like it. Apparently I forgot to actually put an address in the "link". It's fixed now. Apparently also, the host for your link has decided there are too many lurkers around. Now you can't get in without registering.
