The second solution is the correct one, as the first uses exponents, which is not within the allowed function list. Regardless, well done =)

No, since fractions are just division. The no-decimal points thing means that you can't do some smartaleck thing like 3.4 * 1.6 or something.

The simple way (with a decimal point) would be: ((3/.6)+1)*4=24
