FOCS is one of the top two theoretical computer science conferences.
The trailer is a joke. It makes fun of the fact that the average person could care less about CS theory. The trailer is also poorly done. It won't motivate anyone to go! But it may motivate those going to the conference to attend this talk, which is the main reason it was made.
