Good to hear from you again! The first one was interesting, though I gave up after awhile because I got tired of having to go clear back to the beginning everytime I ran into a country that I only had a general idea as to the location. The fact is, geography has changed considerably from when I studied it, and I haven't always kept up. As for the second, I don't like to register until I have an idea what a site is about.

Good to see you too! The first game is a little annoying, especially when you get to later levels like sub-Saharan Africa. I found that hard enough to have to restart many times, meaning I have to plough through the previous 6 levels many times. The second game doesn't need you to register, it just needs a screen name for high-score purposes (unless someone has signed-up on this computer before and there are cookies I don't know about).

Geopolitical drift, anyway. When I was in school, a very large portion of the world map was taken up by a single easily remembered country called the "Soviet Union". Now some mad fool has turned it into a whole bunch of smaller countries with ridiculously hard to remember names such as "Belarus" and "Turkmenistan". And Slovenia, Serbia, and all those others? They were all contained in one nice neat country called "Yugoslavia". Someone has also been messing with those African nations - I sure that there were only about 1/2 as many when I was a kid, and their names were easier too. Plus those SE asian countries that seem to change their names so often, it's a travesty for someone who studied geography in my day, I tell you!
