It might be harder than it first sounds to implement effectively, though.   As for grading, it might make it easier to establish partial credit. Though it sounds to me like what it really does is make it a lot easier for the students to figure out what the proof should be. To what extent this should be viewed as good or bad depends on the course, I think. For early courses, that would be desirable. Not to mention you may miss out on some brilliant proofs.
