Hey guys i have a problem for you help me out please

The Problem of the Billiard Balls

In the Land of Nowhere there is an extraordinary bridge which is two miles long and crosses a rocky ravine one mile deep. The bridge is extraordinary because it can support a weight of only two hundred pounds, although this weight may be distributed in any way along its surface.

To this strange bridge there comes a young man who is light of heart, sure of hand, strong of will, and keen of mind. He carries three billiard balls, each of which weighs two pounds. Heeding the danger sign at the approach to the bridge, he steps on a scale provided by the Government of Nowhere. To his dismay, he finds that he weighs 195 pounds. The ball, of course, total six extra pounds.

The young man, however, is restrained only for a moment. While all the officials of Nowhere are transfixed by shock, he causually proceeds to apparent destruction as he makes for the bridge, carrying his spherical cargo with him.

How that bright young man got across safe and sound, billard balls and all, is now a legend in the Land of Nowhere. The question is, how did he do it?

Thanx if any one knows the answer please let me know!

He first stopped off for enough helium balloons to support a few extra pounds of weight.Wink

At least that is a better answer than the intended one of "juggling", which totally ignores the fact that to throw the balls into the air, he must exert more than 5 lbs of downward force (the average downward force he exerts has to be at least that of his weight and the weight of the balls).

Even with the helium balloons, he had better tread very lightly!  Tongue

The juggling solution is like if you had to people of 190 pounds each and they decide to cross the bridge on pogo sticks, jumping alternatively, so that they never touch the bridge at the same time.

he throws each billiard ball across, then walks over. and if the balls dont get all the way across, he throws them so that the second one hits the first with enough force to move it off the other side.

A billiard ball obviously doesn't weight 2 pounds.  That's how he could get away with juggling.
