I found an email in notifying me that a response had been made to a topic I was watching. When I clicked on it, it took me to the "Thats Quite Interesting" thread.

This is a copy of the email.

That's an email you can get when you push the button "Notify of replies" at the bottom of each thread. You might have clicked it accidentally.
I suspect you can remove the notification from 'notification' next to 'profile' at the top of the page. (But I'm not sure as I never use it)

I understand about getting notices. But, usually the notice for "That's Quite Interesting" says that. It was strange that it said "GET A LIFE" instead.

I almost always use the Notify function. That way I can keep track of what is going on. But, this one was different. That's why I had the question.

There was a nice guy posting to the QI thread with a title asking us to "get a life" -- that's probably the notice you got.

When you're notified it tells you the title of the new post, usually it's just "Re: <topic name>" But you can name your posts whatever you want..

Okay. Thanks. I got it now. I did not know you could name your posts. I also did not see the post about getting a life. Were there any details about where to go to get one?

I wouldn't hold your breath, Speaker. The likelihood of the inbred mutant managing to find his way back here is almost zero. In fact, given the type of depraved websites he was probably searching for in the first place, it amazes me that he ever found his way here. I also wonder what twisted reality his delusional mind must exist in if he thinks that the internet community is made up of depressed dwarfs and that Jim Henson is creator God.

But of course I should make it clear that I am not responding to his post, otherwise I might give him the impression that anyone was paying attention to his puerile and inane comments.  Wink
