A cat? Green!

Me and my friends made up this game:
You think of a word. Then you think of another word which is connected to the first one. This is hard to explain, so I'll give you an example:
cat-green
And this is the connection: Cats drink milk which comes from cows. Cows eat grass, and grass is green.
This is a very bad example  but it's the easiest to understand the game.
So, think of a pair of words, and we'll try to guess what is the connection between them.

I think this games could be fun.
But I think this could be very hard. Some rules need to be applied.
For example:
The connection must be made in precisely three steps.
Otherwise I could think of a lot of connections in a hundred steps.
Eg:
Neah I wouldnt bother.

That could still leave a lot of possible answers, for example:
Cat in the Hat: Dr. Seuss: Green Eggs and Ham
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof: Red Hot: The Red Green Show
Cat Scratch Fever: Scratch and Sniff: The smell of money (in the US that's green)
Cat and mouse: The Rat Pack: Green Bay Packers
Cat's pajamas: clothing: Wearin' o' the green (or Greensleeves)
Cat's Eye: jewels: emerald green
Cat got your tongue: silence is golden: The Green and Gold (can you tell I'm a Packer fan?)
It might be more interesting if the person who makes up the puzzle limits the connections to a certain category such as music, movies, literature, people who have something in common, etc.
