Roughly Rectangular

Jack and Jill each own a roughly rectangular plot of land. Jack's is bounded by four fences, two running north-south that are 20 miles long and two running east-west that are 10 miles long. Jill's is also bounded by four fences, two running north-south that are 10 miles long and two running east-west that are 20 miles long. Assuming the earth to be perfectly spherical, who owns the greater area?

If you cut Jill's land in two by a north-south line and move the pieces around, I think they fit inside Jack's land, because it's wider than 10 miles in the middle. So Jack's is larger. Also, they live on the equator.
