Let x_n be the nth non square number, that is, the nth term in the sequence 2,3,5,6,7,8,10,11,12,13,... (A000037 in Sloane's) Prove that x_n is n+Floor(Sqrt(n)+0.5) I recall that I read the proof somewhere but can't seem to remember either the derivation or its source.
