If I walk up the up-escalator taking one step per second, I make 20 steps before arriving at the top. If I take two steps per second, I take 32 steps before reaching the top. How long would it take to get to the top standing still? (borrowed from http://www.basicskillsbulletin.co.uk/Portals/1/Samples/NBSampleIssue.pdf )

time taken 20 secs and 16 secs for each case if speed of elevator is v 20v + 20 = 16v+32 v=3 steps/sec so length total steps is 80 time taken if standing still 80/3
