Painting riddles

I am prette sure i have seen this riddle - and possibly here,  most likely in differn than my wording:  
 
  You are give two backets of paint: one is red and the other is blue. You also given a spoon which is used only once to take a certain amount of blue color and put it into into the red backet. then do the reverse.  
 
 what is the proportion of the blue to red color in those backets.....
 
 
I appologize in advance if my wording is confusing, but people that had seen this puzzle, should recognize it right the way.
