A man took a glass sphere that was 50 cm in diameter and dropped it 100 meters without it breaking. How is this possible?

He dropped it from a height greater than 100 meters (e.g. 101 meters).

Drops it onto an asteroid?
 
Or inside a heavily padded container?
 
Or in an express elevator so it "lands" before the elevator begins deceleration?

He fills it with hydrogen and the glass sphere weighs less than deuce and a quarter ounce.
 
It does get sucked into the intake of an incoming 767. Roll Eyes
