I came across this puzzle along with other numerous match games and I couldn't figure this one out...a little help would settle my mind cuz its driving me crazy.   Take 9 matches out so that no square of any size  (1x1, 2x2, 3x3, 4x4) is left.   The grid is 4 squares by 4 squares ----- gonna try drawing it out for ya.    _   _   _   _ |_||_||_||_| |_||_||_||_| |_||_||_||_| |_||_||_||_|       its not the best but you should get the idea.
