Try doing a search for "Marble Jars", using the search function. You may find some help (I don't know, but I suspect the puzzle has been debated on the board before)

I think that you ayer the marbles in the jars, black on the bottom of each, and white on the top. That way if you pick a marble at random from the top, you will select a white one and live.

Kevin, click the link T&B posted and read the question, "the jars are shaken up ...." If u read through the thread carefully, you will find a solution similar to yours posted there and discussed .... also the "proper" solution has been put out on that very same thread atleast three times.

See the yellow-brown "Here" in Thud & Blunder's post (Reply #2)? That is a link to an earlier thread about this puzzle. Just move your mouse cursor over it, and when the cursor turns into a hand, click on it. In that thread, the answer is thoroughly discussed.
