Aunt Rose's Birthday Party (long)

Alan Freeman was invited to his Aunt Rosie’s birthday party. Alan called up his Aunt to RSVP. Aunt Rosie told him that she had to work on her birthday again, so the party would actually be held on Saturday, two days before her actual birthday.
Alan arrived early and started mingling with the guests. The first person he talked to was Julio Cruzco, a life long friend of his Aunt’s. While mingling in self-defense, Alan found out that Julio loves any type of food cooked with eggs. After Julio, Alan started walking around looking for his Aunt Rosie. He ran into Ingrid Durmouth, who was looking for the rest of her family, which consisted of a younger sister, and her father and mother. With a smile, Ingrid said she had finally moved out of her parent’s house and was out on her own. After that comment, Ingrid hurried off to find her parents so she could ask them for money.
Alan shook his head and sat down in a chair. The man next to him whispered “Is Ingrid gone?” Alan nodded. He found out the person avoiding Ingrid was her father, Vinnie. Alan recognized him as a second-year professional football player. He listen to Vinnie recount how inexperienced the rookies were this year. While Vinnie was talking, his wife, Mary, came in. After Vinnie was done ranting, Mary gabbed about her father and all of the wonderful memories she had with him. Alan feigned interest until he fell asleep.
When he woke up, another man was sitting next to him. He introduced himself as Arthur Lansing. Figuring that he had something to say, he asked Arthur about his dislikes. Arthur adamantly said he hated the theater. Alan nodded and stood up. He saw his Aunt Rosie in the other room and started walking towards her. On the way he saw Vinnie again with a little girl. Alan assumed it was his other daughter. As he walked by, he heard Vinnie say to the girl, “Christine, this isn’t your birthday. There aren’t any gifts for you here.”
"But I never get enough gifts for my birthday!” Christine whined. Alan walked away as fast as he could towards his Aunt. As he walked towards her, he noticed that a little boy was standing next to her, wearing a red shirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers. “Alan,” she said, “This is my friend Frankie Scott. He lives next door.” Alan waved but Frankie ignored him. Alan tried to wish his Aunt a happy birthday, but she walked away.
Alan tried to follow but four people having a conversation cut him off. Alan decided to sit down and listen. During the conversation, he noticed several things (besides the names of the people).
1. Bill Martin likes to repeat himself.
2. Father Timothy has to be the first to do everything.
3. Michelle Krakoski recently got married, and her maiden name was Lederer.
4. Susie Perkins doesn’t like snakes.
Alan wasn’t sure why those pieces of information stuck in his head, but right now he didn’t care. His Aunt Rosie was by herself. He walked up to her and hugged her, wishing her a happy birthday.
“Hi Alan. I hope you’re having fun. You know, I invited these people for your benefit.
“What do you mean?” he asked.
“Well, the eleven people here, besides you and me, all have something in common. Do you know what it is?”
Alan thought back and replayed the evening in his mind. He smiled and said, “Aunt Rosie, I’m no fool. I know exactly why I was invited here.”

I suspect the only important things in the story are the names: Alan Freeman, Aunt Rosie, Julio Cruzco, Ingrid Durmouth, Vinnie Durmouth, Mary Durmouth, Arthur Lansing, Christine Durmouth, Frankie Scott, Bill Martin, Father Timothy, Michelle (Lederer) Krakowski, Susie Perkins.

The names are important, indeed, but so are the attributes that Alan happens to notice about each.
If you want a small hint, read the following:
:: Why are they each there? What type of event?

p.s. A friend of mine wrote this, and it took me a while to figure out the first answer...however, once I did, the rest came with relative ease.

I think I got it but my answer doesn't really make sense. So I think, its something like what I'm clawing at but not exactly. For my answer to be the to be the correct one, we would need at least four or five people whose names begin with the letter "J"

Each name's initial is the same as the initials of Jesus Christ and his twelve apostles. Or maybe Julius Caesar.
</hint>
I've searched the net for both possibilites and got a negative each time, so I guess this isn't it. Decided to post it anyway, as it was pretty cool theory.

Well, this guy is supposed to represent Francis Scott Key, as evident by his colors (He's wearing Red, White and Blue - FSK composed the Star Spangled Banner) and his name (Fran(cis)-Kie Scott / Francis Scott Key).
No further insights, or ideas how this even relates to Susie Perkins, since her name seems to be only related to St. Patrick by the initials, and rather sketchily at that.

I think the people, based on their initials, represent holidays. E.g. Francis, wearing red, white and blue, sharing the initials of Francis Scott Key, might represent Independence Day, but so might Ingrid Durmouth. Susie Perkins might represent St. Patrick's Day. Julio Cruzco might represent Cinco de Mayo for some reason, maybe some Spanish word that I cannot remember (El Cid? Tequila?). Anyway, that is just my theory, I have been wrong before

That's it! That's got to be it at least! It (mostly) makes sense now, but I can't quite figure out why everyone was there for Alan specifically. Here's what I've got so far:
Julio Cruzco: "long time friend" of his Aunt's, mingled "in self-defense", "Loves any type of food cooked with Eggs"
My only thought is Easter, for Eggs, and the initals J.C. = Jesus Christ. The date of this varies from year to year, however.
Ingrid Durmouth: "looking for the rest of her family". Just moved out of her parent's hosue, on her own. Wanted to ask for money.
Independence Day, based on initials and independence from parents. Date: July 4th
Vinnie Durmouth: "second-year professional football player". His rookers were inexperienced.
Valentine's Day? Based on initials. "second-year" indicates February to me, but I have no idea if the rookies part is relevent. February 14th. It's either that or Veteran's Day, which makes the rookies more relevent, November 11
Mary Durmouth: "Gabbed about her father and all of the wonderful memories she had with him"
Memorial Day, based on initials and the fact that she is talking about memories. May 31st
Arthur Lansing: "adamantly said he hated the theater".
Abraham Lincoln, based on initials, and the fact that Lincoln was shot in the theater. Lincoln's Birthday: February 12th
Christine Durmouht "But I never could get enough gifts for my birthday!"
Christmas Day, based on the gifts (and initials of course)
Frankie Scott: Red shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers.
I still think he stands for Francis Scott Key because of his name and colors. I was puzzling over assigning him a seperate day from Independence Day, but fortunately I found out that Flag Day is June 14th!
Bill martin likes to repeat himself.
Black Monday? The day for the Stock Market Crash, both in 1929 and 1987. October 19th, 1987 is the most recent day, October 28th, 1929 is the older date, if this is correct. I'm not as sure, though.
Father Timothy has to be the first to do everything.
No leads on this one. The F possibly stands for "First" ?
Michelle Krakoski recently got married, and her maiden name was Lederer.
I don't know about the marrying part, but the initials spell Martin Luther King (Jr.), whose birthday is January 19th.
Susie Perkins doesn’t like snakes.
As we've talked about before, Saint Patrick, and his day is on March 17th

However, I don't see how that has anything with wanting to do with being first, since the day is normally considered the "last" day until Easter that you get to do whatever it is you are giving up for Lent.
I suppose it is possible, though, because I can't come up with anything better, and some of the connections in this seem to be rather sketchy. The letters JC were no more the initials for Jesus than SP were initials for Patrick. The word "Christ" is a title which means "Annointed," and is the standard Greek translation of Messiah. Hence why Mel Gibson's movie is called "Passion of THE Christ" instead of "of Christ." ::
However I still don't get what any of this has to do with Aunt Rose, her birthday being moved back two days, or why she put all these people together.

I wonder what "Aunt Rose" has to do with this as well. Her birthday is two days earlier, a Saturday, meaning it really is on a Monday. Maybe it is on a day such as Labor Day, and contrary to the original intent of the holiday, Aunt Rose is a blue collar worker who has to work overtime on the one day of the year set aside to honor blue collar workers?
Anyway, this still does not answer the question of why her initials are important, a question I have not seen addressed in this thread yet.
