Each "question" contains the initials of words that will make the statement true. The statements are well-known facts from the everyday world. Identify the missing words that will make each statement true. For example: Clue: 16 = O. in a P. Answer: 16 Ounces in a Pound Got it? Good! #1: 26 = L. of the A. #2: 7 = W. of the A. W. #3: 1001 = A. N. #4: 12 = S. of the Z. #5: 54 = C. in a D. (with the J.) #6: 9 = P. in the S. S. #7: 88 = P. K. #8: 13 = S. on the A. F.

Regarding #8: I'm not American either, and that's probably why I didn't get this one for a while. I was thinking the S. stands for states and the A. for American, but I couldn't come up with any sensible F. Luckily, I thought of the widespread (and improper, imho) use of the adjective with a restricted meaning, so I finally got it (before beginning to flag). Of course you can argue that you're used to using stylistic devices like this synecdoche (totum pro parte, to be more precise) frequently in your everyday speech. In this case you probably talk rather lyrically, which I'd enjoy listening to. PM me your number, I'll give you a call.

24 = S on the W of A.C would have created more problems than 13=S of the A.F for me.(America is such a center of attraction that everything about it is globally known,so people know about America more than they do of their own motherland)Maybe i could write a satire on this and title it as "The American Animal Farm"

Well, I wasn't aware of this particular Q. With your mess of units and - even worse - the inconsistent conversion factors, it's no wonder. Boy, I'm glad we have the metric system!

| We have the metric system - we just don't use it! Life would be so much easier with it, though. It's tough trying to remember the speed of light in furlongs per fortnight.

I claim the number 17 in this thread. #28: 1 cent if doubled daily for 30 days - well 29 times doubled actually; I'd have written a comma instead of the "if" edited to correct quote after correction of quoted text
