At school me and my friend pass the time send notes and we nearly never get caught by a teacher. If we do they never know what it says. This is one the codes we use. Can you figure it out? (the stars are just the end of the message.) L A U T C U Q Y L S I H T F A S T I H E H T T O G N A Y E C N O E G U O E E H T O * * D N R T S I H T L I A L O F T S T W O L A E E T I U J Y S

Nope It's just a random message, you just have to find how to read it.

You don't quite have the hang of it yet. You've got the right idea in following a trail, but it's more regular than that.

i have been looking at the original grid for more than 2 hours and i don't have any idea what it says. All i can do was collect some random words i can spot in there and make a logical sentence but other than that nothin. (i got something like "they shoot fast" for the first one) Can anyone explain how do you decode that??

For the first one the first word is once (it's in the middle). Then follow the trail.

Yes, I could - but it's not nearly as much fun having a riddle explained as solving it oneself, is it? Try to compare the words in tohuvabohu's post with the letters in the first grid.

For the life of me I can't see anything remotely like a pattern. Could we have another clue, please?

Once you get the hang of it you shouldn't need any more clues. Sometimes we need to take a step back and you should find that it's not too hard to wrap up.

With Sir Col's hint you should get it now. It does matter that you did not get it sight away. Its the kind of riddle you come at from different point of view until you find the right way.

| If you feel like you need a hint: It's basically the same system as in Kitty's original grid, but you have to, well, interpret it correctly. Still no progress on Kitty's last one...

I really loved your grids kitty...I even dreamted about them. A big grid was trying to crush me but if I could discover its weakness then I would defeat it. Even though I was unable to discover the message without the hints, it was a very fun learning experience and understanding different ways of approaching problems. For instance, the last grid...since the middle column was exactly in the middle with two obvious words, I should have used that to my advantage more and attempt to discover the previous words before "saybye". And eliminating weird paths that would not work because of the even or odd number of rows or collumns.
