In 90 seconds name 100 words that don't have the letter A in them. Go.

Of course, the easiest way is to just say "I name them all Fred." Perhaps cheaper is to just $ time grep -iv a /usr/share/dict/words | wc -l 21996 real 0m0.065s I guess you meant using only letters in "90 seconds": $ grep -i ^[seconds]*$ /usr/share/dict/words | wc -l 128 But if you meant using each letter at most once: $ wordplay -lxsf /usr/share/dict/words seconds | wc -l 51 then I'm stumped.

The numbers zero through ninety-nine all lack the letter A when spelled out, which is probably the answer being looked for.

| That's similar to my first idea. Although I'd use a word that's easier to say 100 times in a row and actually do so. Quote: Perhaps cheaper is to just $ time grep -iv a /usr/share/dict/words | wc -l 21996 real 0m0.065s |
| That's hardly a solution, is it? You weren't asked to count the number of possible words, but to name the words yourself. You could, of course, generate a list and read it out, but you'd have to do all that in the 90 seconds starting after the "Go".
