Hello Chelsey Maybe one of these guys always tells the truth and the other always lies. If this is the case, maybe you need to use the fact that there is a person who cannot tell the truth to find the correct direction to go to enjoy a long and riduculous life.

Maybe you could ask one of the men to come with you ... assuming they're not suicidal, that is.

Here's my guess: There's just a fork on the road. And when I mean fork, I mean the utensil. When they mean "One road leads to your death, one allows you to live," it's the same road (You're going to die eventually, but it will allow you to live until you do)! The 2 men know the same road, so you can ask either one of them and they'd give the same answer.

actually, the riddle is a variance of an old classic that involved two doors and two computers. One always tells the truth, the other always lies. Ask either one "what door (or in your case path) would the other say to take to live?" then take the opposite one. The liar would lie about what the truthfull one would say (so you take the opposite) and the truthfull one would tell the truth about what the liar would say. Hope that answers your question.

i will add a bit of twitch to this question, say the two persons described in the question don't know each other i.e the "liar" doesn't know that the other person always speaks the truth and the "truth speaking guy" doesn't know that the other person is a liar. So now what could be the answer?

The answer is found in the threads for the Hard puzzles "Fork in the Road ..." (There are currently I, II, III, and IV, though last I checked only the first three are official). In these threads, you will find solutions that work for TenaliRamen's version, as well as the regular ones.
