ok, the wise man says that the old man (father) is dead; so now its who can get the treasure FIRST.. and even if the old man isnt dead, there is still one of them who reaches it first and last.. so no more desperate wanderings! hehe

u nuts the answer is simple the wise man told them to swap their camel as the camels decide the fate for there owner.after this both will try to ride as fast as they can to make there opponent camel(on whom they are riding res.) lose ie to reach the line first bye... happy ending do reply

If the wiseman told them to switch camels, the last person to get there would realize that his fate is already sealed and he has lost, why then would he allow his brother to win my bringing his camel over the finish line?

My first thought when I read this was that the wise man told the sons to cross the finish line backwards . I think if the brothers hate each other the one to get thier last after switching camels would just leave. Or if it was a close race then the brother to come in last wouldn't be able to stop or turn so the other brother would win the money. But if the brothers were nice to each other then they would both cross the line or not switch camels cross the line and split the mone50/50or60/40 for the one who came up with the answer.
