What is your opinion on yoga and meditation? Is it ok for Western people? In my opinion it is like a psychology from the East. Do you agree. What are the benefits of yoga and meditation?

I don't see how they're like psychology; they don't try to explain/find out how the human mind works. I'd say they're a type of exercise with the intent of improving well-being. There is also some scientific evidence they meditation, at least, does affect the brain and can improve well-being (I don't know about yoga; though in general physical exercise has the same benefits, so that aspect of yoga probably does as well). However, they also tend to have that new-age-y/religious bullsh*t going on around it; and I'm not much in favor of that.

My yogi frind says that yoga is just preparation for meditation. You have to work with your body in order to calm dow your mind. Talking about relation to psychology - maybe psychology and yoga (yoga and meditation alltogether) dealing with the same thing - human problems
