Which one of these guys impacted society the most, and why? Also, what is the correlation of all psychologists & psychiatrists?

Well, if we blame the whole of communism on Marx, then I would say he probably impacted society the most; e.g. the former Soviet Union, China etc. Freud doesn't really compare on that scale.

I agree, Marx was a pretty twisted guy, however Freud was also pretty twisted in some of his views, but I guess you have to be pretty twisted to be a genius (or a madman)!

I wouldn't really qualify Marx as twisted, he was philosopher; what's really twisted is what people made of his idea(l)s. I agree that Freud was pretty twisted though; seems to have been projecting his own mental problems on others a lot. What I'm wondering is why you're comparing the two, since they seem to have little in common.

I wanted to compare the difference between genius and madman, and the fine line between the two.

So, which of these two would you consider a genius? Because imo neither comes particularly close. And they're not exactly exemplars of madmen either (though I do consider Freud a bit of a nutter).

Between the two, one impacted a society, another changed a perspective. Which one deserves the title? Probably Marx.

Marx was an idealist and Freud a materialist. Marx pointed the way to a humane society. Freud treated the sick of a sick society. Both found no middle ground.

Marx -- and I love how it upsets the liberals.
