Since 1989 the Guinness book of world records has omitted the category. And really, who cares; the primary thing an IQ test shows is once skill at doing IQ tests, not intelligence.
Just consider this; if you tell people they will do badly at such a test, they easily score 10 points lower than when you tell them they will excel at it.

Umm, I'd say the 12 year old surgeon in India gets my vote. Personally, I think IQ is overrated because there are a lot of really smart people with little knowledge and effort.
The quote that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration rings true by me.

I don't know if his findings would rival Newton's or Einstein's, but I think he would certainly be above average. I think he'd have the curiosity and drive to be a very good scientist and philosopher.
And maybe if reincarnation is true, he was all three

I guess I didn't put my point clearly. What I was trying to ask is, does a person's IQ depends on when he is born ? Let's face it, when Einstein put forth his Relativity Theory, rumour has it only 3 person in the world understood it. Now, even highschool students are able to explain the concept. Thus, if Einstein were born now, would he be capable of theorising much more advanced theories, or would relativity be his limit ?

There isn't much evolution in our brain's design, I think. So if someone was in the top percentile X eons ago, (s)he would probably be in the top percentile now.
But education makes a big difference in how that intellect is utilized. People are getting increasingly better at taking IQ tests as years pass; not so much because they are getting smarter, but because they are taught how to think in a way that makes you excel at IQ tests.
Also, most people still don't understand relativity. The explanation a highschool student would give is generally easy to shoot holes in. In as much as they even give an explanation, rather than merely some consequences of the theory.

I don't think Aristotle's findings would rival Newton or Einstein, I think that if he had been born 20 years ago, then HE would be reading about the power of dialogue from Theophrastus. If Aristotle had been born 20 years ago, perhaps Alexander the Great would not have ruled most of the world either!

Memory, logic, and synthesis constitutes conventional definitions of intelligence. A person's abilities in one is not always related to the other.
The IQ gives a generally accepted weightings to various combinations problems in different subjects. It's not a good measure of advanced specialized knowledge.
Some really smart people possess specialized abilities in a distinct field and is able to make great contributions to it, while lacking in many other types of abilities. Others are "well-rounded" and possess a good amount of abilities and perform well on the IQ test.
In addition, some really brilliant people also experience psychological disabilities (John Nash from A Beautiful Mind is a good example).

Everyone is asking if Aristotle would be as great now as he was when he was born, and the answer is probably not. He probably wouldn't be as well known. Genetics is not the only factor in determining how smart you are. Nurture is equally important if not more important. Aristotle had the pleasure of being taught by Socrates, having a well-off family, and being exposed to more information than most people of his time. Most people aren't and he probably wouldn't be if he were born recently.
