I would support the continuation, expansion of D-Lab. In my experience, in 'many' universities is that scientists lack of info/skills that could improve their research. However, this info/skills may be trivial. This is why hese workshops are so important. It's a lot to absorb. Maybe have two courses, one about ggplot only, one about spatial data class objects. The latter is of more interest for me. So awesome, will never use ArcGIS again! Would be great to have an even longer training/intensive. Best D-Lab session I've been to. Shinhye is a great instructor - she knows her stuff & she can explain it well! Shinhye was great! This was a well organized class & tutorial Shinhye was extremely helpful and clear in her explanations! Might have learned a little more if the code was not all already filled out, and if instead we filled it out together along the way. Hope this helps! * But the speed seemed appropriate for most people in the training. I really appreciated how Shinhye was so patient to help each person where they are at. She was totally awesome!!!
