Cal Gymnastics has gone through many phases since its birth in 1922 by coach Charles Pease. This HomePage will show you the reasons that Cal Gymnastics went from a Power House in the 1920's to an almost extinct team by the mid-1980's. You will also see the reasons why Cal is on its way back to the top of the NCAA scene.

The History of Cal Men's
Gymnastics will take you on a journey from the early years of coach
Charles Pease to the most recent era a coach Barry Weiner. You will learn the
impact that each coach had on the Golden Bears and the Olympians, World
Championship members, and NCAA champions that each coached.
The Champions of
Cal Gymnastics will inform you of all the past NCAA champions
throughout the history of Cal Gymnastics. From gymnasts such as Dan
Millman, from the 60's, to the most recent NCAA pommel horse champion
Jason Bertram.
The Highest Event
Score section will inform you of the highest individual score for each
apparatus. You will see records that have stood for many years and records
that have fallen in recent years. During the early 1990's many records
have fallen, so you can get a glimpse of the talent of the '96 team.
The 1996 Team Roster will
inform you of the present gymnast that make up the current team. You will
learn more about their personal gymnastics accomplishments. You will also
get to know them better on a more personal level.
The 1997 Meet Schedule
will give you information about the 1997 Gymnastics schedule. The dates and
locations are present for all the '97 competitions. So, for you Cal alumni and
students, GO BEARS!
