Weekly large groups are a central part of the Veritas community. We strive to engage the academic mind through Christ-centered talks and discussion, and to give glory to God through praise, worship, and prayer. Our Friday night gatherings are a time for reflection, worship, and community as we come alongside one another to build one another up; preparing and recentering our hearts to bring the Love of Christ to the Cal community.
Large group lectures have included reflections by Christian faculty members, local-area Christian thinkers and writers, and our own beloved staff workers. Large group discussions seek to engage all members of Veritas trusting that the diversity of academic fields represented in the group will further our understanding of God's creation and the deep relevance of Christ in all walks of life; discussion topics have ranged over the entire spectrum of private and public life.
While every large groups includes a worship component and an time for fellowship and fun, we often also have large groups devoted to prayer, worship and/or time to gather together socially and share some food!
Large Groups take place every Friday starting at 7:00 pm in room G208 at the First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley. We are an ecumenical organisation and are deeply thankful to First Pres for providing us with a space to meet. First Pres is located close to campus at the corner of Dana and Channing. G208 is in the new Geneva building located on Channing street, there are usually signs pointing the way to G208.
