그요일 오후, 317p: *sigh* i've never been so bummed out that it's fri, have i? 2day's the last fri'f my "winter brk." i get mon off 4 new yr's but then return to werk on tues. then i'm takin' fri off as a vakation day to go snowboarding w/ the good folks @ u.s. taekwondo akademy. 2007's almost over.
lemme think... i feel like there r some things i haven't toldju 'bout in my really bad recap'f the past couple'f wks. the beautiful kaela hwang n' i watched dreamgirls on christmas eve. i really liked the movie. i'd totally give'em the oscar 4 best costuming. beyoncé's outfits were... uh... gorgeous! uhm, that's not 2 emasculatin' 4 me to be commentin' on beyoncé's outfits, is it? i really liked the jimmy early comeback tune. i believe that was added in 4 the movie. oh yah, that nite, after watchin' the movie, i researched dreamgirls online n' read all 'bout the broadway musikal n' its history in becomin' a movie, etc.

목요일 아침, 1131a: last nite, @ the sjc mineta aeroport, i fainted over in the baggage claim area. *sigh* weird, huh? i just started feelin' really liteheaded. 1st, i grabbed onto a guard rail by the baggage carousel. then i felt like it'd be better to squat, so i squatted. the next thing i knew, i was on my back on the floor. my mom n' the beautiful kaela hwang helped me up. then i went to go sit down. my mom got me a cup'f h2o form somewhere (i dunno where). *sigh* why did i faint? *shrug* well, i did drink a bier n' 0.5, which kaela n' i got 4 free on the aeroplane cos'f our southwest aerolines frequent flyer program (rapid rewards). maybe i was dehydrated. i surely wasn't drunk. i was carryin' lots'f heavy stuff, i guess. i dunno.

last nite, kaela n' i watched failan a korean movie that we got from netflix.com.
did i tell u 'bout how we found a stray doggy named duke last sat? i'm sure i did.
this morn, i woke up not 2 early. i skateboarded w/ sooni. then, i picked up some leaves. 'pparently, it's been really windy out here, while we were gone. then i headed out to the sunnyvale skate park. my car battery was dead. 1st i had to jump start my car from kaela's car. then, i went to the skate park.
화요일 오후, 156p: it's the day after christmas. the beautiful kaela hwang n' i r still in chino @ her parents' house. what's been up? well, heck! i never finished updatin' u on last wk! well, yah... we were in tahoe the early 0.5'f last wk. we had fun. snowboarding's fun. then we came home. we tried to take care'f last min christmas stuff n' some home stuff. i talked 'bout last thurs. on fri? [later, 213p] oh, i didn't tell u that on the sat b4 we left 4 tahoe, on 12월15일, kaela n' i went to the grand re.opening'f the safeway on homestead rd n' kiely. we won a 512mb ipod shuffle, the ol' kind. not bad, eh? neway, on fri? *shrug* 'twas a rainy day, rt? what did we do??? uhm, did i not talk 'bout this already? oh yah, we skrewed up christmas family stuff 4 my family. that's rt. we ate lunch @ thai pepper in santa clara's ol' town. i was disgruntled, so lunch gave me a stomach ache. in the evening, we went to may's 530p turbo kick box (tkb) class @ the fremont ave. 24 hr fitness. @ nite? we werked on our christmas newsletter - keno's holiday arf.
on sat, kaela watched me skate (skateboard) @ the sunnyvale skate park. i can't do much, but it felt good to have her support. she brought sooni w/ her. she talked to some other wife that was just standin' on the sideline. that wife was watching her husband n' kid skate. c? the sunnyvale skate park's a great place. 4 lunch, we ate @ sabor salvadoreño. in the evening, we went to a christmas party @ our friends' house (eric n' hannah). [later, 밤, 734p] @ the gift exchange, we scored a pasta set from stonehouse olive oil.
on sun morn... hey, i would've loved to have hit up the sunnyvale skate park. however, i didn't. kaela n' i went to church - the 1st service @ grx. then we came home to finish packing. we baked a chicken pizza. my mom came over w/ some 김밥 kimbap from 한국 마켓 hangook market. she droves us to the aeroport. while we waited 4 our flight, we saw pastor abel and annie.
oh yah! on fri afternoon, we found a doggy. yah, this was the 2nd time it happened in 2006. this mutt came up to sooni, who was tied up to a li'l japanese maple tree on our lawn. it taunted sooni, n' she broke off her tie out n' ran after it. they were facin' off n' chasin' each other 'round the street. i managed to call them both over n' got them both on a the tie out, on opposite ends. i brought them both back to our house n' put'em in the backyard. wow, i was a li'l surprised that i managed to round up both doggies. i felt like cesar millan 4 a sec. kaela n' i ditched the doggies in our backyard. . . 성탄절 suhngtanjuhl; 월요일 오후, 114p: 성탄절 즐거워요! merry christmas!!! i wish i were on the slopes in tahoe. however, i'm in chino rt now @ the beautiful kaela hwang's parents' house. down here in socal it's warm during the day n' freezin' @ nite; a perfekt recipe 4 gettin' sick, 4 catchin' a cold. this is the weather we had in norcal back in november. i'm here in socal w/o my snowboard n' w/o my skateboard. i'm boardless. u know me: boardsports r really important to me. neway, it's christmas 2day! christmas's very important to me. it's the day we celebrate the birth'f our dear saviour jesus christ. i heard on the news a few wks 'go that more ppl r offended by "happy holidays" than "merry christmas," many more. yah, @ this pt, i'm a li'l irked by "happy holidays," n've been shamelessly sayin' "merry christmas" more these days. it's funny cos i know it's kind'f like i'm being insensitive to other religions, but... *shrug* don't i have a rt to worship my god?! i think 'twas the seattle aeroport that tore down all their christmas decorations cos a jewish rabbi was threatenin' to sue if they didn't put up a hannukah display. when he found out that they tore down the christmas decorations, he himself was really disappointed cos that's not what he wanted. yah... u know how dr. rick warren sez that he's sick'f how ppl claiming to represent him as an evangelical christian keep talkin' 'bout how they're "against" stuff? he sez that he wants to be 4 stuff, that christians should be 4 stuff. yah, i agree w/ him. he was on nbc's meet the press, hosted by tim russert, on sun morn; this past sun morn, yesterday, christmas eve. he sat 'longside an author'f a book called american gospel. i think dr. rick warren represented the more contemporary view, while that author represented the more conservative, ol' skool view. i'm not sure. they didn't argue or nethin'. that's fine.
130p: so what's up? merry christmas!!! i wish my vakation wouldn't end. then 'gain, it's good to be employed. it's gonna be a new yr soon. what're we gonna do on new yr's eve? i really wanna go snowboarding. i wouldn't mind snowboarding on new yr's day. that's what i really wanna do. *sigh* however, i know kaela wants to go to some kind'f late nite new yr's party. me? *sigh* it's not that i dislike parties or partyin', but 4 me snowboarding takes precedence. i really wanna be on the slopes on new yr's day. *sigh* i don't have super hi hopes tho'. i guess i shouldn't get my hopes up.
rt now, we can get 50 (musik) downloads on sony connect™ 4 the price'f 40, usin' the ¢oupon ¢ode CONNECTHOLIDAY upon checkout. dude, i'd better snag that deal. however, my ¢redit ¢ard bill arrived 4 our blk fri $pendin' $pree n' all our other crazy $pendin' this christmas season. :-o shock! it was quite shocking. *sigh* what did we $pend all this $$$ on? i s'ppose i bought christmas presents n' b.day presents... presents, presents, presents... i'm thankful that some'f our grps'f friends n' family chose to do gift exchanges or secret santa exchanges. that's great. it's sooo much better than buyin' individual presents 4 each person. it's kewl. i hope this trend picks up. i want to this to get bigger. i like it.
there r things i wanna buy, but i feel quite $pent out. [later] 210p: these things'd include 1) (i think) santa cruz seth huot pro tt 157cm snowboard deck (2006~07 model; $429.95) n' 2) independent eric koston 129mm low skateboard trucks ($29.95/pair). both r available @ . does that link werk? if not, then plz use this link: the-house.com
u prob'ly won't tho'. when it comes to boardsports, i'm pretty much talkin' to myself here.
well, tim fong; thanks 4 signin' my gbook a couple'f wks 'go. i really appreciate it. as i sed, i have a new policy'f postin' all my gbook entries into my aktual beno journal. thus, here's ur gbook entry:

what do u want 4 christmas? two front teeth. kidding. tickets to japan would be good.
what is wrong w/ youth 2day? too willing to be led by fools. wait, that's a problem with adults too!
plz tell me 'bout a good memory u have from 2006? finally figuring out a little bit 'bout the whole ki/qi thing.
name a magazine u like: import tuner (yes i am stuck in 1998)
plans 4 next wknd? study. finals!!!!
additional comments: i liked the recent post on tkd and high kicks. i think back kick and counterkicking is great. one of the guys from china at the kickboxing gym knocked a guy out with a back kick. in a match.
i think it is all 'bout the delivery system. look at judo...we turn our back all the time to throw ppl.
even in ufc/pride there are some high kickers like cro cop. lidell knocked some dood out with a shin to the jaw a few years ago.
agree about flexibility. just good as we get older to avoid injuries generally!
[later] 밤, 1143p: well, we ate brunch @ home. then, in the afternoon, we drove out to rolling hills estates to kaela's relatives' house 4 dinner. kaela n' i watched 'lot'f dog whisperer episodes.
earlier this wk... or, uh... last wk, after returnin' from tahoe, kaela n' i watched a bunch'f korean movies we got from netflix.com. they were all so violent. what's up? old boy's so clockwork orangeish. lady vengeance's so kill billish. they're all so quentin tarantinoish à la reservoir dogs.
일요일 오후, 159p: i'm @ the sjc mineta aeroport's gate a3, waitin' 4 southwest aerolines flight nombre 792, service from sjc to ont, departin' @ 315p. i was worried that the aeroport'd be really crowded, so i managed to convince the beautiful kaela hwang to let my mom drive us here @ a decent hr instead'f being in a mad, mad, mad rush as usual. phew. it's not supercrowded, but i'm still glad we came here when we did. kaela checked in our 1 large bag, n' i went 1st to print out a boarding pass, n' now i'm here @ the gate. i haven't flown down to socal in a while, eh?
so what's up? it's been a long, long time since i provided a proper update. last wk, in the early part'f the wk, kaela n' i had our own li'l tahoe trip. even tho' i insist that snowboarding's not a luxurious resort experience 4 me but a hardcore athletik sport; on this trip, we stayed @ the extravagant resort @ squaw creek n' ate @ 2 critikally acclaimed restaurnts: plumpjack n' moody's bistro. on this trip, i got my groove back. earlier, on that northstar day trip, i felt a li'l out'f it: the terrain park kicked my @$$. well, i guess i got my revenge. i dunno... it's not that i have ne rt not to be humble 'bout my snoboarding... whate'er skillz i've got, i got from god. to whate'ever extent i'm good @ snowboarding, it's a gift from god. well, we were @ diamond peak on mon, squaw valley on tues, n' sugar bowl on wed. soon after the trip, i posted my 1st youtube video: a clip that kaela filmed'f me ridin' the sugar bowl coldstream terrain park - "beno at sugar bowl (snowboarding) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4o4d8WVYb0). u can watch it n' c 'xaktly what i do in tahoe all these wknds.
on thurs, after we came back, kaela sed she'd go w/ me to the sunnyvale skate park. however, she didn't wake up in time, n' instead we went to her chiropraktic apptmnt in cupertino. then, we ate some brkfast @ j.box (jack in the box), usin' a giftchecks ¢oupon. then we went to the santa clara library 4 a li'l while. then, we went to kaela's clinik 4 her to treat a patient n' then treat me. then we went to lu lai garden in the milpitas 99 ranch mall to eat a vegetarians meal, usin' 'nother gift ¢heck ¢oupon.
금요일 오후, 237p: wow, my 1st wk'f winter brk has flown by so fast. most wks, i'm very happy when fri arrives. this wk, i'm pretty bummed that it's fri... really bummed that it's fri. my fingers r all cracked open from dry air n' extreme temperatures (cold outside, heated inside), so it hurts 2 type. to me, bein' some1 who likes to talk via my journal etc., it's as if my throat hurt every time i spoke. *sigh* well, i'm very happy that the beautiful kaela hwang n' got to spend 3 days in tahoe this wknd (mon, tues, wed); but i'm havin' quite a frustratin' fri. i woke up ok but stayed home in bed instead'f goin' out to the sunnyvale skate park cos i figured i'd werk on our "family" christmas newsletter instead. outside, our backyard patio looked wet, so i wasn't 100% sure the skate park'd be dry, tho' ppl've in4med me that the skate park concrete dries faster than sidewalk concrete. our house's still freezin' cold cos the furnace's still broken. kaela n' i were s'pposed to go watch our nephew mason's preskool christmas program @ 1030a this morn. she had all these things to gather n' pack n' we ended up missin' the show. instead'f havin' a proper christmas get 2gether w/ my family, we just barely stopped by to hand over presents, n' that's all. kaela made a big deal 'bout needin' to go to her clinic to turn in some papers that she's been sayin' that she needs to turn in 4 a couple'f wks now. she wanted to go there b4 cin' my family, but i reminded her that that'd mean we wouldn't c my family @ all. after ditchin' my family, i drove her to her clinic n' fell asleep in my car as i waited 4 her to do whate'er she needed to do... it took a while, so i'm very glad we didn't go there 1st. that'd make no sense. neway... the idea'f havin' ne kind'f proper christmas get 2gether w/ my family was completely ruined. *sigh* whate'er, dude... i'm not happy. rather, i'm unhappy, but what the heck can i do, eh? we went to lunch @ thai pepper in santa clara's old town (by santa clara university), in the so.called franklin mall, which is just some dinky plaza w/ a post office. well, i don't mean to say it's an unpleasant place. it's nice, but it still goes to show that the lifeblood'f santa clara's merchantile industry's silikon valley's koreatown on el camino real. the korean merchants r the 1s aktually doin' sumpthin' to make santa clara a nicer, more beautiful city. neway, @ thai pepper, i had string bean beef or sumpthin', n' kaela had druken noodles. then, we went to target in the new "san josé marketcenter" on coleman ave, not 2 far from the sjc mineta aeroport n' downtown san jo. now, i'm in the santa clara publik library, 'gain werkin' on our newsletter, while kaela sleeps in my car in the parkin' lot. *sigh*
last nite, kaela n' i went to taekwondo praktice, which was nice. we were kind'f late cos we were @ café aroma in the rainy afternoon n' early evening cos kaela sed she had to werk on that paperwerk stuff. it was really stressful cos i had to fight holiday traffik up n' down el camino real to fetch our taekwondo stuff n' go to the 도장 dojang to open it up cos i'm the 1 w/ the key. praktice was good. afterwards, a bunch'f us went to 양평 해장국 yangpyuhng haejanggoo, rt by 길목 gilmok, 4 dinner. i always, alway feel bad when we go there cos the 길목 아저씨 gilmok ajuhssi cs us, n' i know we ought to go there instead cos the owners there r nice to us n' nice to sooni. a very important almost political alliance exists btwn 길목 gilmok n' our church grx, n i absolutely hate to violate that. last nite, some'f the gurls talked 'bout goin' clubbin' 2nite. 'least they talk 'bout clubbin' in san jo n' not drivin' all the way up to "the city" (sf) to go clubbing. &nbps; do u realise? i used to love clubbin' cos i'm a dj n' love musik n' dancin'. however, i've now come almost to hate clubbin' cos it's now 2 often 'bout carryin' drunk gurls home n' keepin 'them out'f trouble. it's funny: in some cases, 4 single guys 'least, takin' gurls clubbin's an asset cos it gets them into clubs easier, 'specially nice, classy korean clubs. however, on the other hand, either 4 single or attached guys, takin' gurls clubbin's a liabilty cos u just gotta spend ur time keepin' nasty guys 'way from ur women n' makin' sure u don't accidentally look @ some scantily clad gurl (other than ur own). 'f course, as an attached guy, it makes li'l sense to go clubbin' by myself cos i need a gurl to dance w/, u know? i can't go dance w/ some other gurl (even if it were "just as friends") cos it'd look bad, u know? thus... yah, clubbin's often just a hassle now... but in essence, i love clubbin'. i love what it ought to be. it ought to be 'bout musik n' dancin' n' not 'bout carryin' home drunk gurls n' fightin' off nasty loser guys. r we even appreciated 4 that? *sigh*
well, what's happened since i last wrote? freakin' a; lots. on thurs nite, i went to sports basement to attend "marvin l's sideout shopping party." i don't know "marvin l," but he's friends w/ my cousin walter n' (i think) also my cousin john. walter invited me to the $hopping party, so i also invited 2'f my taekwondo students. i saw neither walter nor my taekwondo students there. they didn't come. walter was home sick. i missed the black belt taekwondo sparring praktice to attend the $hopping party. oh yah, that was after pickin' kaela up from the aftermath'f some post.finals chiropraktic skool party. *sigh* neway, i brought sooni w/ me to the $hopping party. 'pparently, my cousin john's roommate has a dog who's s'pposedly 0.5 jindo n' 0.5 lab. it looks more like a lab 'cept 4 its jindoish (curly) tail. many'f the $hopping party attendees brought doggies. most'f the party attendees were bay area asian yuppies. i believe sports basement gets many'f these/us. my cousin john also brought his dog. his dog's name's buddy. sooni bullied them all. she's not an aggressive doggy, just a dominant 1. neway, after the $hopping party, i went to the 도장 dojang to teach the adult beginners class. hrm, i have a li'l blank in my memory what i taught the class that nite or who showed up; which is bad cos i take attendance. i'm really "anal" 'bout that. (i don't like that wurd.) *sigh* it's a bit'f werk to run this taekwondo class, but i'm not gonna whine. it's just part'f bein' a enthusiastik, experienced martial artist. after paktice, i went straight home instead'f goin' out to eat. i had a li'l bit'f a stomach ache from eatin' 2 much pizza @ lunch 2 tomatina. 'member? our boss took my group out.
on fri, my division @ werk had our holiday party @ the snata clara convention center. i was late cos i had to drive kaela from home to some apt complex by her skool to pick up her car from the nite b4. our division's party has lots'f raffle prizes, but 4 the 2nd yr in a row, i won nuthin'. in the evenin', we went to our t3 light grx bible study small group's christmas party. that was fun. we had fud from buca di beppo.
on sat morn, i went to the sunnyvale skate park. wow, after not skatin' 4 a bit, i felt very out'f it... till i warmed up a bit. i looked quite foolish @ 1st. i wondered 'gain if snowboarding : skateboarding :: badminton : tennis... was snowboarding skrewin' up my skateboarding? well, after a while i got back into the swing'f things. it's like how, by tues'f this wk, i finally got into the swin'f things w/ snowboarding... 'specially the terrain park, freestyle stuff.
금요일 아침: so... sumpthin' i haven't mentioned here (since i really haven't had time to write lately) 's that my cousin wendy (nicknamed "wawa," real name "hwang shin.hui") 's visitin' cali this wk. she arrives 2day w/ her fiancé tim n' a guy friend'f theirs eddie. i'll try to hang out w/ them 2morrow or 'least go to dinner w/ them in sf. this is really bad timing, un4tunately. i absolutely hate how i find out 'bout these things so last min. neway... as u know, the beautiful kaela hwang have our own li'l tahoe trip mon~wed'f next wk. wendy et al'll be in the bay area thru next wk n' then'll take off to socal. 4tunately kaela n' i r also goin' down to socal, but they're goin' down b4 us n'll leave b4 us. 'gain, there's a narrow window'fn opportunity to meet up. freakin' a! if only i'd known 'bout this earlier i could've planned my "winter brk" better n' be a better cousin. *sigh* s'pposedly we're mtg up in sf on sat nite 4 dinner @ a korean restauarnt. i've been pushin' my hardest 4 brothers bbq (형제 갈비 hyungjei galbi) cos every1 knows that's like the place to go 4 korean fud in sf. un4tunately, sf really doesn't have the variety'f korean restaurants that silikon valley's k.town or oakland's k.town has. u know, it's kind'f like the how berkeley is w/ indian fud: when the gen'l population'f a region's open to eatin' fud'f a variety'f int'l cultures, then those restaurants un4tunately start waterin' down the authenticity'f their fud. u c, in fremont, i hear there's the most authentik indian restaurants. however, only indians/desi ppl go there. i guess lots'f the non.desi ppl in fremont just rn't open 'nuff to eatin' indian fud. out in oakland's k.town n' on el camino real in santa clara's k.town; 'gain... u find some'f these really authentik korean restaurants which non.koreans r scared to go in. the korean restaurants that r popular w/ non.koreans 2 often r the 1s that r watered down n' not as authentik. after all, that's what most'f the koreans in the area c to say 'bout korea house on el camino real n' san tomas. luckily, santa clara's k.town still has some authentik korean restaurants that r popular w/ koreans n' somewhat popular w/ non.korean - 명동순두부 myungdong soondubu, 길복 gilmok, 청기와 chunggiwa (blue stones)... in sf, yah... i'm sure there r lots'f ppl'f various races that r willin' to eat korean fud, indian fud, etc... thus, well... honestly, i don't hear'f the most authentik korean fud or the most authentik indian fud comin' out'f sf. yadadamean?
while readin' transworld skateboarding 2007 buyers guide i was surprised to learn that both adidas n' reebok've jumped into the skate shoe (skateboarding shoe) game. wow! i already knew, of course, that nike has nike sb n' nke 6.0. however, wow! reebok n' adidas? honestly; nike, adidas, n' reebok cm to make really good skateboard shioes cos they just plain make good shoes cos they've got so much experience in the shoe industry. oftentimes, their skateboarding shoes just look like athletik shoes. on the other hand, other more purist skateboarding shoe brands' shoes look more like casual shoes. me, i currenty wear vans.
목요일 밤, 1153p: 2day, our manager took our group out to lunch @ tomatina. we shared 3 pizzas: chicken pesto, carne combo, n' fennel sausage n' leek. mmmm... fennel sausage n' leek was the best, if u ask me. we also had some appetizers: polenta n' mussels. there, i saw the beautiful kaela hwang's skool friends, but she didn't show up. the sed they couldn't reach her. i found out later that she was partyin' w/ some other skool friends. neway, my manager then gave us some see's candy n' took us to watch a movie: déjà vu. 'twas a pretty good movie w/ denzel washington n' val kilmer. i had a pretty good time. later, i picked kaela up from her party, dropped her off @ home, picked up sooni, went to my cousin walter's friend marvin's sports basement $hopping party, ran into my cousin john (didn't c my cousin walter cos he was home, sick), bought a green werkout shirt 4 ¢heap (usin' a $10 voucher), n' then went to teach the adult beginners class @ u.s. taekwondo akademy. then i went straight home w/o goin' to dinner w/ friends cos i had a bit'f a stomach ache.
on tues nite, after the grx leadership summit, i drove back to borders bookstore in sunnyvale to use my 40% off ¢oupon to buy the sunset western garden book n' then also bought the transworld skateboarding 2007 buyers guide. i truly believe that that combination bewildered my ¢a$hier!
수요일 밤, 925p: i'm home alone 2nite. i ate a togo's sandwich 4 dinner. u c, some other grp @ my company 'pparently had a bunch'f togos sandwiches 4 lunch n' then gave 'way the leftovers. [later] 1154p: @ lunch, the beautiful kaela hwang n' i went to daphne's greek café in sunnyvale by trader joe's. we used a ¢oupon we got in the mail. then, we went to trader joe's to buy some gro¢eries. after werk, 2nite, i went to sach's turbo kick box (tkb) class @ the fremont ave, sunnyvale 24 hour fitness.
화요일 아침: 1212 = 일이일이 = illy illy. isn't illy some brand'f coffee or espresso or sumpthin'? neway, what's up? it's rainin', n' thus i can't skate (skateboard). i just can't wait to get back onto the snow slopes. snowboarding, man. that's where it's @, now that we've got precipitation. me, i'm a li'l sick tho'. my nose's congested n' dry... @ the same time. i cm to have a bit'f a cold. last nite, i went to sach's turbo kick box (tkb) class @ the sunnyvale, east arque avenue 24 hour fitness, but i didn't have the energy to go all out. unlike on almost ne other time i'm there, i was almost just goin' thru the motions. since the gym floor has been really slippery lately cos'f the moisture from the humidity due to the poor ventilation in that room, i wore my adidas runnin' shoes instead'f my ol' new balance x.trainers. wow, those adidas runnin' shoes r almost a yr ol', yet i didn't wear them much. un4tunate 4 them, i pretty much quit runnin' soon after i got'em, eh? of course, that's cos i picked skateboarding back up, so that became my mornin' exercise instead. i think if kaela n' i hadn't joined 24 hour fitness, maybe i'd still jog now n' then.
speakin'f health, here's an article from y! news - health: "Alcohol in moderation may extend life." here's a good snippet: "The manner in which alcohol is consumed also appears to be important, the researchers report. 'Little amounts, preferably during meals, this appears to be the right way (to drink alcohol),' said Dr. Giovanni de Gaetano of Catholic University, another author on the study. 'This is another feature of the Mediterranean diet, where alcohol, wine above all, is the ideal partner of a dinner or lunch, but that's all: the rest of the day must be absolutely alcohol-free.'"
오후: during my rainy lunchbrk, i drove over to sunnyvale's cherry orchard plaza n' ate a free carnitas burrito w/ black beans from chipotle. 'twas free thanks to a voucher i "won" @ icer air in nov. i ate by myself like a lonely engr. then i went into borders to browse thru their books n' magazines. i have a 40% off ¢oupon but didn't have it w/ me. *sigh* i may return 2nite to make a pur¢ha$e. we'll c. u c, 2nite i gotta go to a grx leadership summit @ the river of life church in santa clara. i'll be missing taekwondo praktice n' class. maybe after that i'll return to borders. i dunno.
[later] i'm currently flashing my lg choco vx8500 via bt, upgradin' the sw (software) from v03 to v04, which'll add speakerfon capability n' eliminate the annoying necessity to push the side button 2ice to unlock the keys. i got the sw to do this upgrade from howardforums.com. i also could bring the fon into the nearby verizon store to have the operation done 4 free, i think. however, the ppl on the forums r such proponents'f diy (do.it.urself) stuff, so... *shrug* i hope i don't blow up my fon. this is kind'f dangerous, i think; but oh well. the lg chocolate that sold in korea long b4 we saw it here in the states is/was a diff fon, 'ccording to the wikipedia article. 'twas a kg800, not a vx8500; n' it aktually smelled like chocolate.
while @ borders during my lunchbrk, i browsed thru a couple'f books on snowboarding, a couple'f books on skateboarding, n' then went downstairs to look @ transworld skateboarding's 2007 buyers guide n' then quickly @ an issue'f some unfamiliar snowboarding magazine. what's the diff btwn a mag, a zine, n' a magazine?! maybe i can consult wikipedia. here we go! wiki entry 4 "zine"
월요일 아침: 2day's jerome's b.day. happy b.day, jerome. 생일축하해. *sigh* the whole idea'f jerome's havin' a b.day brings me back to the heyday'f the cal taekwondo party crew (as u'd expekt). 'member those days? also, 'member when we used to have bronx's junkyard events?
well, this past sat, i finally made it to the slopes. i didn't skateboard all wknd but got to snowboard. woo hoo! finally my 1st snowboarding day'f the season. i got to try out my new burton cartel bindings, which appear to be the industry standard 4 freestyle snowboarding now. sony mdrv700dj headfon monitors : djing :: burton cartel bindings : freestyle snowboarding :: independent trucks : skateboarding ('specially vert / 0.5pipe / pool)... could that be true? well, when i strapped in, i wasn't sure what to expekt. when i 1st put on my 1st strap, i almost accidentally put it on like a normal toe strap, but then quickly 'member that i now have toecap straps. wow. well, i strapped in n' noticed rt 'way that the binding (singular, as i 1st only strapped in my front foot/boot since i had to kick/push/skate to the lift) was stiffer than i'd expekted, stiffer than my sims 7075.t5 al baseplate bindings. i expekted this plastik baseplate binding to be more flexible, but maybe it's the hiback that's stiffer. *shrug* i guess so. well, as i rode, i tried not to think 2 hard 'bout my bindings, instead just to ride as usual. yah, they felt fine. better? worse? definitely, not worse... better? *shrug* maybe... a couple'f things r 4 sure, tho': i'm glad that i no longer hafta worry 'bout some screws (such as my ankle strap's screw) comin' loose. also, it's easier to unstrap than b4 cos i just hafta pull up not push down n' pull up. that's an improvement that bindings've had 4 many yrs now. i realised that i'd had my sims bindings 4 8 seasons. i'd had my boots 4 8 seasons. i've had my deck 4 4 seasons. my boots've cn over 100 days on the slopes. neway, altho' i haven't yet felt a total super big improvement cos'f my new hi.end bindings, i do feel improved reliabilty in'em. we'll c. maybe i'll notice next time a big improvement.
here's a kewl british newspaper article that i found on tim fong's xanga: "70-year-old ex-SAS soldier dares to tackle four muggers and wins."
w/ all the christmas n' "holiday" parties these days, plz be sure to watch whatchu eat! last nite was the grx christmas banquet @ sunnyvale's avalon niteclub on lawrence expwy @ homestead rd. 'twas a fun banquet as always. the kids put on a cute christmas show (pageant?) as always, n' the grx dance ministry put on a great dance show as usual. this female singing trio, who call themselves "2 week's notice" cos they all recently quit their jobs, did a great job. this dude dennis kwon sang a jazzy, loungey rendition'f "i'll be home 4 christmas." hey, i'm tired'f michael bublé; why not give this guy a "record" contrakt?! yah, 2'f those gurls n' then this guy dennis (aka "dk") r on grx's worship (praise musik) team. the final akt was this rap duo c.r.i.m.e. n' likewise. man, they were really good.
[later] 오후: 2day, i went to lunch w/ the beautiful kaela hwang @ sunnyvale's chelokababi persian restaurant @ the corner'f wolfe rd n' el camino real (1236 wolfe rd; sunnyvale, ca 94086; 408.737.1222; www.chelokababi.com). 4 kaela n' me, that was our 2nd time there. we went there 1nce a few yrs 'go w/ our friends mark n' grace. 2day, we used a gift¢hecks ¢oupon. as i sed b4, we're tryin' to use as many'f these up as possible b4 the end'f the yr, when they all expire. kaela ordered the monday lunch special - fesenjun ($11.95), n' i ordered the ghaymeh (~$11.95). we also got an appetizer'f hummous (hummos) ($4.50, expen$ive), n' i got a sekanjebin beverage ($3.50), described in their menu as "a sweet refreshing drink prepared with sekanjebin syrup and shredded cucumbers." it kind'f tastes like a sauce that u u dip appetizers in @ a thai restaurant. check out an ol' metro restaurant review on'em by andrew x. pham from back on 1996년06월27일: "Persian Way." that article mentions pri¢e$ in that r signifi¢antly ¢heaper than those that we paid 2day! wow!
[later] neway, yah, we're aktually havin' a li'l funny these days usin' up these ¢oupons. yesterday, @ lunch, we used a good 1 @ the san joseacute; radisson's picasso's restaurant. whereas many'f these (bogo, buy 1 get 1 free, b1g1) ¢oupons have an upper $.value limit, yesterday's picasso's ¢oupon was unlimited, butwe didn't go 4 the most expen$ive stuff neway. kaela ordered this pistacchio cursted wild salmon over pearl rice w/ sun dried tomatos, n' i ordered the grilled large prawns n' roasted veggies salad w/ pine nuts, feta cheese, n' raspberry vinaigrette. the fud was surprisingly good 4 this kind'f out'f the way hotel, located in a rather industrial area 'cross the street from a teamsters union office.
on sat, what did i eat? on our drive up to tahoe, i ate an egg mcmuffin meal from mcyukyuk's . 4 lunch, i ate a fatt'ningly creamy but decently tasty chicken corn chowder w/ a corn bread muffin @ the top'f the mountain lodge (top'f the comstock express lift) @ northstar. 4 dinner, i ate a strangely ordered burger @ the auburn in.n.out: a "2 by meat w/ ketchup n' mustard instead of special sauce n' with everything." u c, i 1st ordered a "2 by meat w/ ketchup n' mustard instead of special sauce." then the gurl asked, "just ketchup and mustard and nothinge else?" that gave me a flashback to when i asked our ol' friend johnny tien to pick me up a turkey sandwich @ subwy w/o cheese. he asked me, "anything else?" i sed, "no." he showed up w/ a sandiwch that was just bread n' turkey. nuts. well, this gurl ended up placing the order as "double meat with extra cheese, onions, and ketchup and mustard instead of special sauce." the burger was $2.35 + 25¢ 4 cheese ($2.60), which's ¢heaper than a 2×2 ($2.85). i also had fries. when i tried to order a small soda, the gurl misunderstood me n' just gave me a free cup 4 ice h2o, which i graciously accepted since it's healthier. wow, that was a decently ¢heap but filling dinner. what a strange in.n.out experience.
[later] 저녁 이지만 아직도 당연히 직장에서: this past wknd was all 'bout fud or nethin'. 'twas 'bout snowboarding. well, clarence stayed over on fri nite. we left pretty on time in the morn; picked up gilbert @ the milpitas, calaveras blvd mcyukyuk's; picked up phil (@ the parking lot'f walnut creek's broadway plaza); met up w/ yulin, jonny boy, n' yulin's college friend jeff; n' made it up to northstar pretty on time. msot'f the day - 'least 4 gilbert n' me - was spent ridin' luggi's, 1'f the few open runs. luggi's's prob'ly the run that i've ridden the most, the 1 run in the whole, wide world that i've ridden the most in my whole, entire life! can i ride it blindfolded? ha ha. well, i wouldn't take up that dare, but i'm sure i've ridden it in poor visibility conditions multiple times. i know well that there r 2 li'l hit jumps after the big rt turn. i rode that freeride run over n' over, n' then my very last run'f the day was finally a run thru northstar's 1 terrain park rt now, on pinball off'f the vista express lift. i didn't do so hot. i had cr@ppy dismounts off'f each'f the boxes that i managed to grind/slide. then @ 1 pt, feelin' all beat up n' crestfallen, i sat down after slidin' a box. a few moments later, a skier landed on me! i was very glad i had my helmet on. we both apologised cos i knew i should've moved more off to the side to sit, n' he know he should've cn that i was there b4 jumping or 'least b4 landing. i was quite shaken up but proceeded down the course to try to jump onto 'nother box, which i thoroughly mangled! i jumped 2 late, n' my board hit some sharp edge, like on the side coping'f the box. i slid down the entire legnth'f the long box on my belly n' then dismounted switch (switchfoot) as my only saving grace. man! i must've been the laffing stock'f the park @ that moment! *sigh* u c, the prob w/ that run was that, w/ the quickly freezing, icy snow, i was gathering 2 much speed in my approaches n' then did the wrong thing by speed checking 2 late. as an experienced freestyle snowboarder, i know u can't do that. u either start closer to ur jump n' speed check earlier or else just take the jump w/ whate'er speed u've got n' just get ready 4 some big air. *sigh* neway, live to ride 'nother day. :-/ when i got down to the mid.mtn lodge to meet up w/ my friends (as i'd gone up solo 4 that last run); i discovered that the box that i bailed on took a sizeable chunk out'f my base... "coreshot..." i felt pretty low n' humbled. i summed up the day as "u win some, u lose some." perhaps i looked like the "sickest" guy on luggi's just cos i could pull of staelfishes off that li'l hit after the turn n' could bullet down the run; but i sure looked like a fool on pinball! i realised later that i'd jumped rt into the big park stuff w/o havin' a chance to praktice in a smaller park since northstar doesn't have 1 rt now. well, heck! that's how it used to be. in the ol' days, there weren't baby parks like there r 2day. sometimes, i think i've gotten 2 com4table these days w/ baby parks, so i don't push myself as hard as i used to.
well, yesterday (sun), after church, b4 lunch, kaela n' i went to mel cotton's to 1) complain 'bout the overcharge on our recent maintenance order w/ the tahoe card n' then get my new damage fixed. i kind'f argued w/ them a li'l, tryin' not to sound like the stereotypikal "¢heap a$ian." my reason 4 wantin' to get our deserved $$$ back wasn't cos i just wanted to get every penny back that i could but cos i can do these repairs myself n'do >know< what it takes but am willing to pay 'xaktly what they're worth n' just that. in the end, the manager dude there gave me our $$$ back n' did the new base repairs 4 free. smart choice 4 that guy: a win.win situation!
[later] this is my last wk'f werk b4 our early holiday shutdown. as much as i dislike being coerced to use vakation time, this is a much needed brk. i've been burnin' out. what shall i do w/ this time off? as u know kaela n' i r goin' to tahoe 4 a bit n' then to her parents' house in chino 4 a bit. other than that? heck, on whate'er days it doesn't rain, i'd like to skate (skateboard). i guess we ought'a get the furnace fixed. other stuff? yah, i ought to make the most'f my time.
이요일 밤, 1056p: i found a kewl link on superdave kim's starkdavingmad: giant magazine's "50 greatest tv commercials of the 80s." from that article i found a link to giant magazine's "by popular demand: 50 more 80s commercials".
금요일 오후: a few wks 'go or so (i think 'twas rt after t.giving), i found out that the vacated albertsons stores in our area've been bought by save mart. rats, i was really hoping that they'd be picked up by whole fuds, aka whole pay¢he¢k, purveyors'f quality, overpri¢ed, healthy fuds. whole fuds would've been good, but trader joe's would've been even better. my bro.in.law (sista's husband) steve werks as a city planner 4 the city'f sunnyvale, so he was in the know on this topik. he told me that whole fuds requires more space than these vacated albertsons stores had. oh well... whole fuds's hqed in austin tx; whereas trader joe's (aka tj's)'s hqed in monrovia, ca (socal). neither r truly local companies, but i prefer cali.based companies, altho' i knkow austin, tx's sort'f a cultural oasis in tx. 4 the most part, i don't like the whole concept'f texan culture; but i'm sure it's not as bad as it sounds.
2morrow, i'm goin' to northstar to snowboard w/ a couple'f my cowerkers, phil, n' clarence. this should be fun. most'f us have free lift tix from the bay area snow show. on sun, i've gotta go chew the folks out @ mel cotton's 4 rippin' the beautiful kaela hwang off on our recent snowboard maintenance. they didn't provide the tahoe card deal! kaela sed they must've ripped her off cos she's a woman, the way auto shops do it. i also hate how snow shops prob'ly assume we're the typikal asian yuppie snowboaders, which i insist we're not -- sometimes rather futilely... no, oftentimes very futilely.
[later] it's gonna snow on us n' be really cold 2morrow @ northstar. well, here's a chance 4 me to try out my quiksilver down jacket. i hope it's as rugged as it sez it is. i hope it's not just 4 looks.
수요일 오후: this wk, i've been followin' the media coverage'f james n' kati kim n' their daughters penelope n'... uh... what's the other gurl's name? josephine or sumpthin'? oh yah, sabine! josephine's the name'f the oregon county that they were lost in. neway, just a while 'go, it was stated that "the body of james kim" was found but that no1's sayin' whether he's dead or alive. *sigh* the way they say "body" makes me uneasy. man... poor guy, poor family. i feel bad 4'em, n' they tried so hard n' did so well. they demonstrated such resourcefulness. well, we'll c. pray n' c, u know?
[later] 저녁 이지만 당영히 아직도 직장에서: the nbc11.com article sed that they'd have an update @ 200p from some official. i reloaded the webpage 4~10 mins b4 200p n' read that james kim was found dead. honestly, my heart sank. it's such a touching story, n' i feel this father really gave his life 4 his wife n' kids. not to make lite'f the situation, but i hope they turn this story into a korean ballad msuik video. imho, it'd be like that 조성모 jo sungmo video that has the korean.amerikan firefighter goin' off to the twin towers on 911.
stickin' w/ the topik'f men sacrificin' 4 their families, i had a thought earlier 2day: ('gain, i don't mean to be disrespektful. this is just a thought i had earlier in the day.) many ppl go off to werk each day in order to earn a living to support their families. in this day n' age tho', society puts so much emphasis on the idea that 1 must love his/her werk sooo much, that if u don't love ur job, u ought to find sumpthin' else. s'pposedly, we should all be doin 4 a career what we love most. if that were true, wouldn't we all be musicians, artists, aktors, models, writers, chefs, pro skateboarders, restaurant critiks, sports commentators, filmmakers, singers, dog trainers, racecar drivers, fotographers, n' the like? we can't all do those things 4 a living, rt? just how many nfl quarterbacks can u have?! not every1 who wants to be 1's qualified. however, the question'f how to get these kind'f jobs more often isn't skill but either luck or connektions or worse. it's not even always skill. 'just how many do we need?' neway, so... many'f us werk a so.called 9.to.5, which is really an 8.to.7. we deal w/ a fair 'mount'f cr@p all day, n' then get cr@p 4 it from our friends 4 not werkin' a job that's always pure fun. our friends give us cr@p n' then our employers give us cr@p. even they say ppl should only werk a job if they absolutely love that job. keep in mind, tho', that many ppl werk jobs to provide 4 their families... n' those jobs vary. many ppl, n' i feel this tends more often to be men, try to show that they love their spouses n' kids by werkin' hard n' bringin' home "the bacon" or "dough" to feed their family n' buy'em nice things. then every1 gives'em cr@p 4 this. it's just like how society belittles stay@home moms these days. stay@home moms n' that type'f werking dad take 'lot'f cr@p from society these days. seriously.
월요일 아침: this wknd, i wasn't motivated to update the beno journal. if u'r a regular reader who aktually likes reading this, then sorry. it was a decent wknd but 2 short, no doubt. lemme tell u: i've decided upon 'least 1 new yr's resolution 4 2007 - to get rid'f my sideburns! the beautiful kaela hwang doesn't like'em, n' most ppl don't like'em; so, by popular demand, they'll be out'f here. i've had them in the past @ times, but they were always a foolish idea, i guess. aktually, i guess the reason i started growin'em out 'gain's cos i haven't been dyin' or bleachin' my hair in recent yrs cos'f the corporate cultural environment @ my office. since i'm (unofficially) not 'llowed to colour my hair, i've needed some way to express my individual style. however... whate'er, dude... it's time 4 a more professional look... maybe.
[later] 점심: so this was a pretty packed wknd. i s'pposed it's time to switch into outline mode:
[later] this morn, i wanted to skateboard w/ sooni but didn't. also, i wanted to hit up the sunnyvale skate park but decided that it'd be more professional 4 me to go straight to werk n' try to buckle down n' werk. @ lunch, kaela came to pick me up, n' we ate lunch @ dusita thai restaurant, usin' a gift checks ¢oupon (bogo).
[later] i gotta say; when i hang w/ our friend eric, i get to try a variety'f biers. he's quite into bier. it's pretty interesting. over the past decade or so, yah, i've come to enjoi bier. like kaela, i tend to like lite biers best; but given the entire range'f choices, i prefer biers that r either really lite or else really dark. i like the typikal golden asian lagers like ob, hite, cass, taiwan, asahi, sapporo. i like it when they taste like freshly baked bread. i enjoi popular dark stouts like guiness or other stouts that r described as having a chocolatey taste. the 1st time that my friend cal gave me a taste'f guiness, i recoiled n' sed it tasted like coffee. well, it's not that i didn't like coffee. i do like rich, dark coffee. i do now, n' i did then. however, i was just really shocked. up until then, i'd mostly drank lite biers - bud lite, heineken, sierra nevada pale ale... i guess, back then, i was just uneasy 'bout havin' that coffee taste in bier; but i think after i discovered the chocolatey note in that chord, i grew to like stout biers more. however, i always have this feeling - whether rt or wrong - that i shouldn't drink 2 much stout bier cos it's somehow not as healthy as lite biers. yah, i could be wrong. i also like pilsner biers, n' wheat biers like hefeweizen. fruit ciders, like apple or pear? yah, i'm kewl w/'em. now, wine coolers n' such fruity malt beverages? ugh, i now avoid'em cos'f their inclusion'f hi fructose corn syrup. i shy 'way from red biers, marzens, n' india pale ales. i think india pale ale tastes a bit like gin; it has a taste that's a bit chemically/chemicalish to me. marzen n' red biers? maybe 2 caramelly? *big shrug*
cos i wanna $ave $$$ (since i've $pent so much'f it lately), i wanna stay in n' cook more often these days. however, i guess every1 else thinks like that cos i've gotten so many nice restaurant ¢oupon$ (coupons) lately. it's true, rt? i have many ¢oupon$ (coupons) from my gift¢he¢k$ (giftchecks) book to use still (expire 2006년12월30일):
- left @ albuquerque
- mayuri indian cuisine
- vquero's chop houseel pollo loco
- tia juana mexikan restaurant (duane in sunnyvale)
- sangam "fine" indian cuisine (1st st, san jo)
- el caminito mexikan restaurant (el camino real, sunnyvale)
- banjara indian cuisine (town & country village, sunnyvale)
- lu lai garden vegetarian chinese cuisine (milpitas 99 ranch)
- rangoli (el camino real @ halford, santa clara)
- chelokababi (wolfe rd @ el camino real, sunnyvale)

- una mas grill 108 (river aoks pkwy, san jo)
things r lookin' up re: a day trip to the slopse this sat. phil n' clarence've sed that they'd join me. clarence n' i r lookin' to use our bay area snow show free tix. those'll get us into: pathetik dodge ridge, cr@ppy heavenly, out'f the way homewood, kirkwood, s'pposedly cr@ppy mt. rose, northstar, n' sierra. the only serious choices out'f those r: pathetik dodge ridge, kirkwood, northstar, n' sierra. let's check the snow report 'gain:
- pathetik dodge ridge: not open
- cr@ppy heavenly: 27~51", 5 lifts
- homewood: not open
- kirkwood: 14~16", only 2 lifts
- s'pposedly cr@ppy n out'f the way mt. rose: 7~12", only 1 lift
- northstar: 10~16", 6 lifts
- sierra: 6~14", 6 lifts
- mysteriously not included sugar bowl: 12~24", only 1 lift
[later] just 1'f the reason's i'm gonna resolve in 2007년 to shave off my sideburns's cos almost every1 @ cal taekwondo on sat made fun'f'em. i mean... call it peer pressure if u must, but i guess it makes sense. furthermore, kaela's always hated'em. the worst part 'bout'em is this: in hi skool, when i went to get my hair cut @ some hair cuttin' place on almaden expy, just north'f blossom hill rd (i think 'twas maybe just b4 some important hi skool dance), the lady asked me if i wanted her to shave off my sideburns. i asked her 4 her opinion. she sed, well, especially since u don't have really thick side burns, i oughtta shave'em off. in fakt, i think she put it more bluntly n' sed they were scraggly or sumpthin'. *sigh* in college, i tried to grow out my sideburns 1nce or 2ice... more likely 2ice. as i was losin' weight all thru.out college, my mom told me my sideburns made me look 2 skinny... 'least my face. ppl make elvis cracks/jokes to me, but i think my scraggly attempts @ sideburns were more inspired by the likes'f michael nesmith'f the monkees. didju happen to check out the wiki link i put rt there? if so, didju c a recent pic there'f nesmith? can u believe how much older (ok, "more mature") he looks now? wow! he looks like a grandpa, n' i'm sure he is. i only 'member him from the monkees tv show!
2day, i'm wearing these tragically hip stone blue cords (cordouroy jeans) that i bought in oktober from armani exchange (a|x0. i noticed this morn that the screenprinted, stylish paint spots had washed off. man, don'tchu hate it when clothes r like that?! like, don'tchu hate it when "durty" jeans turn clean? well, maybe those fake paint spots were a bit 2 bold; i dunno. however, on fri, i received my aeropostale order w/ a pair'f super.ripped jeans, which i wore on sat to berkeley. i guess they did make me feel a li'l juvenile.
[later] 저녁 이지만 당영히 아직도 직쟁에서: i have that list'f restaurants 4 which i have expiring giftcheck coupons, but u know somewhere else i wish we could go somedasy? the silikon valley has several russian restaurants. i'd like to try 1 someday.
밤 / 오전 1220a: really, it's been a martial arts wk n' not a boarsports wk. i skateboarded w/ sooni yesterday morn but didn't make it out to the sunnyvale skate park in the morn. i wanted to pull off 'nother lunctime skate sesh there, but i was stuck in the lab@werk.com. by the time i had lunch, 'twas well into the afternoon, n' i didn't wanna go to the park when all the skoolkids r out'f class. i like the adult crowd. last nite, i taught the black belt class as well as the adult beginners (white/yellow/orange belt) class. i had the black belt do lots'f "demo" style kicks b4 i let them spar. personally, i thought 'twas fun to mix in a bit'f fancy kicks. i just sparred 1 match w/ steve n' got so bruised n' banged up. then, cos the rm was so cold, i got so sore n' cramped up. ugh. *sigh* it's been quite a wk'f martial arts! yah, it's been really cold. i think i'll be doin' martial arts every day this wk 'cept 4 sun. mon, wed, n' hopefully fri (2day), i'll've done turbo kick box. tues n' thurs, i did real taekwondo. sat, i'll be @ the ucmap 태권도 심사 taegwuhndo shimsa taekwondo promotional exam.
[later] 오후: the weather's still cold n' dry. i got so banged up from last nite's taekwondo praktice. i skateboarded 'round the neighbourhood w/ sooni this morn but didn't hit up the sunnyvale skate park, which is just plain wrong. i ought to've been there; but 1) i didn't have time cos i had to get to werk earlier 2day w/ hopes'f bustin' out on time to go to the turbo kick box (Tkb) "party" - a special class @ the fremont ave sunnyvale 24 hour fitness w/ 6 instruktors, n' 2) i was so sore from taekwonodo last nite n' the cold weather. @ lunch, i went to c the beautiful kaela hwang in her clinik 4 chiropraktic care. cos'f that i had to miss lunch. i didn't get to eat. from our werk's bake sale, i bought a $2 slice'f apple pie. i'm hungry, so hungry.
2day's snow report:
- alpine meadows: 12~14”
- boreal: 20~24”
- pathetik dodge ridge: 0
- cr@ppy heavenly: 27~45”
- northstar@tahoe: 17~29”
- sierra@tahoe: 7~14”
- squaw valley: 8~16”
- sugar bowl: 6~14”

[later] 4getchu not that 2morrow's the big game: cal v. stanfurd. cal's "bowl.bound," headin' to the holiday bowl v. texas a&m. [later] rt? i got that rt, rt? we rn't goin' to the sun bowl, rt? it's the holiday bowl v. texas a&m, rt? neway... go bears!
often when i return to berkeley, i get nostalgik. i wish i could visit more often. the culture in the city there's very interesting n' lively. i kind'f miss the city's personality now n' then. i guess i don't miss the lack'f parking. also, i don't miss the streetcrime. i feel safer here in the silikon valley, i guess... i mean; 'f course that's a generalisation.
저녁 이지만 아직도 직장에서: can u believe that nov's almost o'er? wow! i was scannin' thru my ol' werk e.mails n' started reminiscin' 'bout back in 8월 aug'f this yr. 'member that? 'twas a bit hot this summer, eh? oh man! what's cooler than being cool? ice cold! what's colder than ice cold? our house! it's so cold in our house these days cos the our furnace's broken! it's a frigidaire pilotless gas furnace attached to an air conditioning unit. i've searched online, n' it looks like the problem might not be easy to fix. we'll prob'ly hafta hire some1 to fix it. *sigh* where'm i gonna get the $$$ to pay 4 all this?! i need to $ave $$$ 4 snowboarding! i need a lift ti¢ket budget n' $$$ 4 gas. lodging? well, i'll mostly make day trips.
this morn, i didn't go to the sunnyvale skate park. i was gonna skateboard, 'least 'round the block, w/ sooni but chickened out when i saw my neighbours. 'member: i'm self.conscious 'bout my neighbours cin' me skate 'round the neighbourhood cos i think they'll think i'm an irresponsible homeowner. *sigh* well, i walked sooni 'round the block. i was gonna rush off to the sunnyvale skate park but realised 'twas 2 late.
yah, i started thinkin' that this wk just ain't a skateboardin' or even a boardsports wk 4 me. i started thinkin' that maybe 'tis simply more'f a martial arts wk. i went to turbo kick box (tkb) on mon nite @ the e arques sunnyvale 24 hr fitness. i went to taekwondo praktice n' taught taekwondo class last nite. 2nite, i'll prob'ly go to 'nother turbo kick box (tkb), hopefully @ the fremont ave sunnyvale 24 hour fitness. well... as i was thinkin' that this wk's just a martial arts wk n' not a boardsports wk... i ended up pullin' 4 1st "lunchtime skate sesh" @ the sunnyvale skate park. woohoo! i sed skrew it n' took off durin' lunch 4 the sunnyvale skate park. i worried: would it be full'f punk, teenage kids? would it be full'f pro skaters w/o day jobs that'd laff @ me? well... there weren't kids. there were many adults that just cmed not to have jobs n' were definitely good skaters. then, there were some other yuppieish guys there that might also've been pullin' off "lunchtime skate seshes." i dunno. like, there was this 1 asian dude... a bit older than me n' quite a bit better than me @ skatin'. he looked like a professional career guy. i had a good time. i wasn't wearing sunscreen tho'.
man, it's been really cold lately. this morn, when i walked sooni, saw that all the lawns were frosted over. 2morrow morn's s'pposed to be even colder! crazy! i'll need to wear my quiksilver down jacket. man, down jackets've been all the rage this season, eh? i almost regret buyin' the expen$ive quiksilver jacket cos i've cn sooo many other, ¢heaper down jackets @ all sorts'f stores. however, my quiksilver down jacket's funktional 4 snowboarding... altho' it ought to have a 2.way zipper. *sigh* i need that not only 4 pee breaks but so i can lift my knees nice n' hi durin' big airs... n' i plan to catch lots'f big air! ha ha ha. *sigh* i can't wait, man.
yah, 2day, while tryin' to ollie the "pyramid" @ the sunnyvale skate park, i made a conscious effort to lift my knees hi. yup, that resulted in my ollieing higher. good. i still can't clear the flat deck/table, but w/ a li'l more speed i prob'ly can.
do i need better bearings or wheels to get more speed? i dunno; but a wk or so 'go, i realised that the more i think 'bout buyin' a new, additional skateboard setup, the more i wanna stick w/ my current 1. only cos there r so many choices n' i stress over what's the best choice 4 my next setup. dude, that's the same prob i have w/ snowboarding equipment. i can hardly believe i bought these burton cartel super.dope bindings just on a whim. in the past, i did mondo research b4 buyin' big snowboarding equipment. however... the more i think 'bout it... the more i figure this was my best choice. what other model/brand would i've gone w/? lib tech? forum? i want bindings good 4 freestyle, as u know. what do the pros use? *sigh* yah, i aktually care what the pros use, but it's a li'l sad to me that most'f the big name pros've now gone w/ companies that i'm not as into... like k2 or salomon or rossignol or, well, burton. i guess u've got guys ridin' 4 lib tech or gnu... me... i'll always appreciate santa cruz 4 their true skateboarding roots. man... my board rt now has a santa cruz deck w/ sims bindings... dude, that's totally straight out'f the ol' days'f skateboarding! i've got like the dogtown snowboarding setup, eh? however, i'll soon change out the outmoded sims bindings 4 these super.dope burton cartel bindings... then what? *shrug* well, burton... burton's been a big name in snowboarding since the start... not a big name in skateoboarding by ne means; but a big, big name in snowboarding.
on mon nite, i cooked chicken curry @ home after sach's turbo kick box (tkb) class. i've been cookin' more lately. mostly, i'm tryin' to $ave $$$, but... *shrug*
[later] 906p: well, i'm watching ong bak after eating dinner after coming home from turbo kick box (tkb) class. maybe it is martial arts wk here @ the beno journal. ha ha. man, it's cold here. i've plans to remove our snowboard bindings 2nite. i hope i get 'round to it. i guess i'll just watch some'f this. furthermore, it won't take long to remove the bindings.
