Below are seven cuts from the 1958-1959 "Echoes of the Knights" sound recording. There are in MP3 format which means you will need a program such as RealMedia or Winamp to play them which may already be installed on your computer. If you don't have a program, click here to download Winamp for free. Click "Download Winamp" then "Begin Download".
Important: Please do not "stream" these files. Please download them to your hard drive. You can do this by Right mouse clicking the link and selecting "Save Target As...".
Also important: These files are quite large (up to 2.4 megabites) so allow some time to download, especially if you are on a modem. If you are concerned about how long it will take, try downloading cut 4, Fight Song, first.
Echoes of the Knights 1958-1959
Cut 1
Cheer, introduction and National Student Council Convention announcement.
Cut 2
School play "Blithe Spirit" and exchange student. In an amusing note, Blithe
Spirit was also done while I was at NWC, I believe in 1997.
Cut 3
Athletics, commentary by coach Rex Irwin, pep rally
Cut 4
Fight Song! In later years we added a "GO!" in between repeats, ala OU. However,
I'm certain it's the exact same arrangement we used in the 90's.
Cut 5
Classics '59. This cut is the longest, but I couldn't bring myself to break
it up. The mixing is brilliant, as are the performances.
Cut 6
Honor roll, the princess of Romania, and principal J. Frank Malone. Does
anyone know anything about Princess Kathrine? I'm assuming this is post exile...?
Cut 7
Closing and Alma Mater. I may have messed up the last two a little bit -- I'm
working on it.
Go Knights! Northwest Classen,On to Victory!
Go Knights! Brave and bold, for Purple and Gold.
Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors are with you.*
Go Knights! Fight, fight, fight for Vic-to-ry!
*In the past, this line was "Lancers, Coronets, Falcons, and Cygnats
are with you.", for the four Pep Clubs.
Dear Northwest Classen brave and bold,
We will always sing our prasies, to the Purple and the Gold.
Our love will be your glory, your honor will be our goal.
As the years go swiftly by us, and we travel far apart,
The emblem of proud knighthood will never leave our hearts.
